New Sightron 10x50x60

I took it out for the first time yesterday.
I feel like it was not super clear. My friends Bushnell 4200 seamed more clear.
My Sightron is brand new so it is clean any idea if this is a common feeling on this scope or could I have a dud?
Should have bought a Nightforce I guess damn.
The fine focus is very particular to me also wow a small window for a clearish image. Thanks for any thoughts. PG

Does it have IR or the exposed Tacticle style knobs with clicks that feel like clicks?

When you get over about 42 power it starts to get darker but otherwise it should be very clear and bright. Mine was as bright as my Nightforce at the same zoom range since the Nforce only went to 42 power. At about half the price I think it compares favorably. yeah the side focus is touchy but on the Benchrest Nightforces there is no side focus so choose your poison. If your anal the Nightforce NXS may be the ticket but it's a grand more $ than your Sightron. Try it again under about 38 power and you may be pleasantly surprised.

I bought one in October last year, and have yet to mount it, but it will be mounted and sighted in this coming weekend. I have played with it half a dozen times at powers around 40 and under and can see no issues. Appears to have very good resolution. I guess what I am trying to say is that it is tough to pass judgement until it is taken out to the range or field and put thru its paces. Your post soothed me after reading OP's first post. I bought the Sightron because of its attractive price and power range.

IMHO I think it works great at 40x or less. I just went out with mine on Saturday. Mine is the older model not the new tactical Illuminated model. I found that the clicks on mine are really nice and crisp. It tracks nicely. IMO the glass is not as good as Nighforce for clarity but feel like the colors are much sharper than Nightforce. I own them both. I bought the Sightron with the expectations that I would only be able to use it at 40x or less. I am glad I set those expectations early on. I must say that if it weren't for the other member on this sight I wouldn't not have been satisfied. For the price that I paid at Bruno's I think I got one great scope. I bought a second. I will let you know how that one goes.

I also have two of the 10-50x60 SIII and have found them to be both to track well and be repeatable. They've proven their dependability the last two season in the dog towns and for the price I'm pleased and can live with the fact that if not turned much above 40x they are extremely clear. The side focus on both of mine work fine I find that the side focus is much faster and quicker then messing around with a NF BR model with that said if I was only going to be using it at a know distances such as in "F" class I'd most likely opt for the NF.

I would like to try one of the "new" IR models with the moa reticle for F-Class F/TR.

Can't beat the weight difference between them and Night Force, that's why now I use 20-50X Premier boosted Leupolds, but they are 1/4 moa adjustment and I would love to have 1/8 adjustments.
