sightron 111 10x50x60

tclaunch,

I haven't rated the scope yet......not officaly, any way. I looked through ONE scope at 32x, and never messed with the paralex.....I just don't turn the knobs of other peoples scopes at a match.....unless I am told to.

I will rate one, though...for sure. Weather it is someone elses that I can spend some time with, or one that I purchase!!

Rest assured, if it doesn't measure up, it will make the for sale pages!!

Exactly why my 12-42 NF went down the road, at least we agree on not keeping items we are not comfy with.

have i made a bad decesion i have done alot of research on this sightron 10x50x60 lrtd scope nearly everything i read on this site was positive about it i bought one then happened to look at swfa im nearly sick to say the least hardly any rating hope im not over reacting as ive not received the scope yet any imput good or bad greatly appreciated thanks alan.
SWFA review board is kinda &^^(&^%^T*&&^^ in my opinion, maybe they just know everything and I don't. But I will stick to Accurate Shooter reviews from now on for my lessons

Don't always trust all reviews...Its a fine scope. I use it right along side of some of my nightforce scopes. The elevation turret isn't as easy to read as others, but its accurate and repeatable.

A scope is what you make of it, but they are a dam good entry level BR scope for sure if you don't have the coins for NF. I have one and love it 36x very happy with it, I'm sure I might could win a relay with it maybe even a shootoff.

I own 2 Sightron 10 X 50 X 60 both FC w/dot. After talking to HABU on Longrange dot com. I ordered 4 63mm Camera sunshades $8.00 each and screwed them right on my scopes. Have 2 sightron 8 x 32 X 50 both w/ FC and dot. I own several Nightforce scopes and several Swarorski scopes. For the money and warranty Sightron is hard to beat.

Yes, the new NightForce has a speed dial and return to Zero heavier turrent springs and is tougher externally.

As for clarity, light gathering, and tracking the sightrons have been as good or better.

Nat Lambeth

can you say were you got the 63mm sunshades from?

I've owned a dozen or so SIII's over the years and for the price I haven't found anything even close. At one time I even returned a NF because my side by side comparison didn't justify the additional cost of the NF. Even if you don't like it, as long as you don't over pay, SIII's really hold their value if you decide to sell it down the road.

I own 6 S111 and love them I just don't use them at high power when it is hot ( to many heat waves) but early in the morning I can count the hairs on a graydiggers face !

Is there a feature or characteristic of the higher priced scopes (Nightforce, March, or maybe the new Vortex Golden Eagle) that allows an advantage in heavy mirage situations? I shoot F-Class using Sightron scopes many times in heavy mirage (and I struggle!). I would gladly pay the extra $$ if another scope allowed me an advantage in heavy mirage.

I've never seen any scope that would or could block out mirage at higher powers and I think that's a good thing. Mirage is simply the combination at any given time of air, wind, moisture, and heat that is somewhere between the end of the scope and the target being shot at. It can tell the shooter valuable information in judging how and where to aim the next shot with this factor in play. It does take some learning to read but it's not rocket science and is helpful in the same sense as wind flags. In mirage a shooter can actually see the wind in real time. Hope this helps.

I have a Siii 10 50 and think it's fine. I will add that I can see across the St' Lawrence river from my house, I was surprised how clear it is to see those 3 miles

I just received a S III 10x-50X MOA2 for evaluation. I used it for fire forming 44 cases in my Dasher barrel. For the heat and mirage in Louisiana, I was pleased with the image at 50 power. When I finish the review, I will offer an article to Paul on my findings. If he accepts it, you can read my honest opinions on this scope. James Mock

I have 5 SIII 10-50s. You can spend more for other brands,
but in most cases, you are only buying a name, not improved
optical quality. LDS
