New scope for 600 yrd.

I have a NF NXS 12-42, which has side focus and illumination, and an NP-2DD reticle. (0.1moa dot at 42 power) $1400 plus shipping.
It is not a Zero stop model, as that was not available when they were making the 12-42 NXS.

I am glad I got. It is very nice. I will not be parting with this one. You never can go wrong buying a Nightforce.

I agree with hoz53 I have bought (6) Nightforce scopes from this site used and every single one looked brand new. Well (6) 12X43X56 Br's Np-2DD and (1) NSX 8X32X56 Np-2DD I bought all the benchrest models for $1100.00 or less. I don't think there is a better scope out there for the price.

Now the proud owner of a NSX 12x42x56 NP-2DD and another 12x42x56Br NP-2DD, Sightron 10x50x60 crosshair 1/8"dot and last a 36 power Sightron 24 power with a 1/8" dot so cheap it would have been crazy not to buy it. I guess I have bought enough scopes for one month.

I'm told by reliable sources that the Sightron 45x with ED glass is outstanding,
I' have the Sightron 8-32x56 s111 for 600 yard and 1 k as a backup also the Golden Eagle is pretty darn good.

LOL, I have all three of those scopes also - the Sightron 45X45 is on my Anschutz 1413 and I love it (amazing glass), the Sightron 8-32X56 is on my M70 Win 6.5 CM, fabulous scope for the money and finally the Vortex GE is on my 6 Dasher, I like the scope a lot, especially the reticle, but I find it gets a bit "dark above 45X. For my money Sightron is the best value out there - buy it through "Lance" on this board and save some money.

for the money I’d buy a used Night Force Benchrest 12x42- prob get one around 11 to 1200. Lifetime guarantee — I think the new ones are in the 1500 range

Just be aware that at 600 you are pushing the elevation limit unless you use a 20/30 MOA base

its true im always watching for elevation issues with the NF br scopes as they are around 40 moa total. If you set one optically centered that gives you 20 up. My ballistic program says 12.8 up from 100 zero for my 6br with 105s at 600 so im okay there. i know many guns dont start out exactly optical centered though. I use the Sig zee rings with the inserts. this works for me when i need elevation so far to 900.
