New Savage

I am looking at a new savage 110 hunter. I have had great success with older savage rifles. But no experience with their new gun. Wondering what people think of their newer guns.

I bought a 110 in 270 Win for a donor a few years ago.
Converted it to 257 Roberts AI.
I've had zero issues with it.

I have a bottom bolt release in .223 that is bone stock from the factory that just continues to amaze me with its accuracy. Consistently shoots 5 shot groups under an inch with handloads.

About 4 years ago I bought a 110 Storm in .223. VERY accurate rifle. Action is very smooth, surprisingly close to that of my 6.5 CM Tikka Super Varmint. Hunting opportunities didn’t really pan out, so pulled the action, dropped it into an MDT stock, added a Shilen barrel, and made it into a range rifle. Flawless through 400+ rounds.

As mentioned above, not sure what you call new.....

I bought a Savage model 10 in 7mm-08 about 4 years ago. Shoots 1" to 1 1/4" @ 100 with the first handload I tried, so I quit testing.
Plenty good enough for deer out to 300 yards, and that's what I bought it for.

The 110 models are as good as the Savage era from when the accutrigger was introduced.

How old are you talking about that you have experience?

I shoot a Savage 110 PCS. Working the action when new, it was very gritty. Cleaning up the bolt and action, all the grittyness is gone. Very smooth, very accurate.

the 4 rifles I have recently purchased were probably between 10 to 15 years old. They have sure made me a believer in Savage.

I have a pair of Savage 12 rifles ... one F-Class in 6.5/284 and one Varmint Low Profile in 300WSM. Love em!
The F-Class (~2013 vintage) has the full-blown "target" Accu-trigger which is set really light.
The VLP has their "varmint" Accutrigger, which is about halfway between the "target" and "regular" Accutrigger.
One of the things I like best about the Savages is that you can rebarrel them youself.
