New Rifle!

CT -

Howdy !

A superb rifle in a superb chambering !

Really liked my mid-60’s, and more recently.... my CT-made M-336XLR. .35Remington, of course !!

Now that surplus Rem .35 cal. 150PSPs are hard to come by, I have graduated to use of Cutting Edge’ outstanding .358” turned brass
150gr polymer-tipped BTs. These have proven hyper accurate in my
M-336, and I’ll soon try them out in my CVA Hunter. .35 Rem.

With regards,
357Mag

Good info. Turned solid brass bullets, in 35 Rem. fancy.
I don't reload for this one, yet, but I might...
Here's a soft point 200g. Rem CORE-LOKT. back to basics.
wish me luck.
BC of - a bowling ball. :)
Good to hear from you.
Had a CT made 336 30-30 + sold it. Live & learn.

The old Core-Lokt is a great hunting bullet! I used them for a handful of years back in the day before I started handloading. Excellent terminal performance. Perfect mix of weight retention and expansion for delivering great penetration and energy delivery :)

I have a marlin just like that in 35 rem. My dad bought it in 1976 when he was in high school. I have it now. Shot a bunch of deer with it.

My bud back in Connecticut has killed 100's whitetails with a .270 Win. & 130g Core Lokt ammo. He came to hunting - late in life.
Bought property and the fellas who had hunted there for years before + he, agreed - you teach me how to shoot, clean, and a good cartridge, scope, etc. + we'll continue.
Maybe "Thee" best white-tail round out there. That 130 enters the deer and rarely in my case exits. I find the bullet just under the hide on the opposite shoulder. The deer gets the entire load of energy. In fact, I really can't remember one deer taking a step after impact. Down right there.

Seems like many of us have that exact rifle that our dads or grand dad's passed down. Mine is an old one for sure. Don't know the gear but my grand dad died is the 60s and passed it to my dad. Never shot it tho.

I think you’re in the wrong thread here with this .270 nonsense! It’s clearly the .35 Remington! ;):D

You need to shoot it once. They are real thumpers. I always remember shooting it when I was 10 and leaving the range with a sore shoulder!

My dad had a 30-30 like that when i was a kid. He wants another one but i can only find the barrel band long magazine type
I like the shorter mag type. I think it looks neat. :)
5 rounds, just took the 336 apart & doubt it was fired more than 20 times, if that.
No rust, spotless bore (now, anyway).
