New rifle build...can't make up my mind. Clear heads needed

Out of curiosity again.....are you working with an existing action or buying a new one? I built a 338 Norma (Dallas Lane) and 2650 is effortless with a 300 EH and H1000. With more work on my end and slower powders 2750 is realistic. Anyway, don't mean to bug you just killing time:).
You're not bugging me. I'd have to get an action.

What is the case capacity of a 30-28 Nosler? I think the 28 is 97, and the 30 is 99 maybe....

I load to mag length in my RUM, the coal with the 230 is 3.9".
My 30-28 Nosler 2x fired ADG brass is 103gr of H20. I can't remember the H20 capacity of the 28 Nosler off the top of my head but I do know one of my loads with the 195gr Bergers is 87gr and some change of RL-33.
30 Nosler ADG brass is 102gr of H20

With the RUM at mag leghth you are loosing quite a bit of powder capacity stuffing the bullet into the powder column. The 33-28 Nosler is another great chambering.

28’s got more case capacity than the 30. Backwards from my thinking, but I don’t run Nosler…probably a good thing because there would be some changes ;)
They made the 28 Case longer than the 30 so you can't accidentally chamber a 28 Nos round in a 30 chamber.

I know…but think about that for a second, it wouldn’t matter…it’s the other way around that creates potential catastrophic issues. Meaning trying to put a 284 down a 30, not near as big of a deal as trying to run a 30 down a 284.

Well, I have an update. I've made the first steps on Gun #1. As previously mentioned as my "final answer" a few posts back, I have decided (along with your help) to build two rifles. The first being a 300 WSM and the second being a 33 Nosler.

I bought an action, and it isn't the Weatherby 307 as previously mentioned. Actually, I bought a complete rifle (for the action), it just so happens to already be chambered in 300 WSM. It's a Tikka T3.

I'm pretty close to Jr on count. I have a DR in 10 bore, and a hammerless DR in 50-110 Win on the big end.
Variety is the spice of life...

Heck, I even had two rifles in the Rangers in RVN. M203 and a select fire M-14 with some of the duplex bullet ammunition. My third tour (Danang) the Company issued an OM 70 in 30-06.

More IS better.
