New Reloading Shop

I used to be in the hvac business-- i wonder how those minisplits have changed since i got out.

I dont know how they have changed but I love mine. I over insulated everything so my shop stays reasonable to start with. I can turn mine on and get the temp to drop or raise in a short time. Quiet. I am only heating and cooling about 550 sq ft.

Looks great and you have a tremendous wife-- you have or are running electric to it right. you can use that for a heat pump, AC or humidifier right. you have natural gas you can pipe to it?
No NG in this neck of the woods. And yes it has electric and pre wired before the interior walls went up.

I had mentioned awhile back that I was in the beginning stages of building a new reloading shop. Several members ask me to post my progress. I actually considered many different options including a garage with one end as a shop for reloading but living on a lake in eastern Maine I thought I may get humidity issues. Then I considered one of the prefabricated buildings but I would need to do so much to it to get a somewhat controlled environment to keep my powder dry so to speak. So my wife actually said build exactly what you think you will need. So here are a couple of pictures of the project so far. The building is 14x18 with a loft on each end for storage. It’s spray foam insulated with plywood interior walls. My wife put 3 coats of paint on the floor, 2 on the walls and 4 coats of Petet Spar varnish on the new reloading bench that I designed from some I saw on this site. Total 8 3/4 gallons on paint. I built this bench 8’ long and as you will see I have T rails installed on one end for 4’. I still need to install the shelves as we needed to finish the varnish before those could be added. I should be ready to start moving my stuff in by mid week.
Fine Job.
Wish you many Hours of happy Loading.

Nice reloading house. LED lighting?? Now all you have to do is reload for moose season
Drawing for Maine Moose lottery this Saturday. Good luck. I haven't pulled a tag in 20 yrs of entering as a non resident

I’m guessing $5-10 per month (more likely 5) to heat and cool with a heat pump. Dry mode very efficient. They have come a long way.
Very nice reloading room. Makes me think, I have a “shooting shack” next to my garage. I get picked on, but I fill my deer tag almost every year!
Maybe I should build a shooting shack/reloading room/ man cave!!!

“Got out”?? You still blow a little hot air now and then......;):eek::D:D:D
Lol-- youre right and as they say it takes one to know one. :D:D:D and after seeing your fancy bench and this mans nicely finished bench Im feeling like Im Falling Far

Well what every you lack in velocity, you would certainly make up for in mass. They can sure mess up a nice rig.

7000 grains/pound... estimated Duramax weight 9300 pounds... making your projectile 65,100,000 grains... yikes:eek:!
