I have been considering a rebarreling my 22-250 winchester M70 to either 22-250 AI with a 1-8' twist, 243 AI with a 1-10' twist or maybe going to the 260 AI. I know they all have a lot of reloading info and good track records. Just looking for some additional input. Thanks...

Bi-pod. I was thinking a heavy varmint contour 26' OAL .875 Diameter Muzzle. Purpose, I guess you could say general purpose hunting varmint-deer size game, and target...

From your stated intent and not knowing if its more for deer or varmints, I'd lean towards the 260 which would definatly give me the edge on the deer kill range. With that said I own a 6mmAI for varmints off the bench, an almost finished 6.5/06AI for bench shooting and several .243's and 257 hunting rifles.
If your gonna carry it much, I would not go any larger than a Sendero contour and it would be fluted too. I have carried my 7STW in a Sendero and humping that big boy gets old quick..
Might want to think about about stocks too, a nice glass stock would lighten it up a tish too. What size scope ya putting on it? IMHO, scopes with 50mm Obj suck for hunting anywhere you find yourself going through brush..

Well 260 AI it is. Sent off the action to be rebarreled today. Ordered a new stock from H-S Precision Pro-Series Varmint / PSV042.
