New Primer Notification Tool

I’ve been watching this thread just to see how things would play out a bit. I haven’t signed up but plan to if things start happening and some primers get purchased because of it.

I just wanted to give credit/Kudos for your frankness and honesty. When anybody offers a full refund, an apology, an explanation, asks for some patience they always get credit in my book.

I think you have a great idea. I hope it works and I hope it expands to all primers.

Unfortunately one of the side effects of the way life is now days with technology, internet markets etc is that a small groups of people out there have become professional flippers. They have learned to take any hot item that is hard to get and turn into big profit. They can be pretty hard to compete with once they zero in and find a product they can make money on. Now they are doing it with components and I’m sure a percentage of primers, powder or whatever is being bought and resold on gunbroker or wherever. I’d love to know how much product actually goes to these type of buyers, maybe not as much as we assume. I wish I knew how cunning their buying process is, are we really dealing with people who buying programs “bots”? They are also tech savvy, everything is fast, auto fill and it can be hard to compete with even if you receive a notice and are fast to start the buying process. So anything the helps us commoners compete is pretty cool.

Keep tuning it up and good luck!
Thank you sir.

Their process is no more complex than the system I built for PP.

They cannot purchase primers automatically (checkout and all). Payment processors have specifically built their fraud detection systems around prevents automated transactions.

I do not believe all the majority of scalpers are getting their supplies by beating us to major retailers.

I think lots are simply making deals with LGS and other.

Many LGS's and distributors are hurting from the last 4 years of price depressions.

I cannot blame them, but I do not support it.

Edit:
I just want to thank you again for the kind words. They do impact my day.

I would like some input on the APS strips though.

I know I'd be frustrated if I impulse bought some strips.
FWIW I have had no issues pushing the primers out of the aps strips to be used in another priming tool. Plastic tip on a ink pen works well. Went this route with the LAST shortage... I didn't learn my lesson then evidently.

I understand everyone is anxious about the primers (And frustrated, like me, about the general mass scarcity we are facing in the firearms industry). I understand many of you don't have primers and that is how we met.

I have received a lot of anger and frustration for the third rail drop. I frankly did not trust that site upon seeing it, and had never seen primers come in stock there before. But the main thing is that I wouldn't advise anyone to purchase from a site I wouldn't buy from myself, that seems illogical.

The internet is massive and there is no way we can cover it all, there will almost certainly be other small stores I have not found. Additionally, while I don't anticipate more errors, its entirely possible there will be more.

90% of the time spent on the system (way before it was ever considered to be released to y'all, was spent ensuring it is correct for the big ones. Midway and Brownell.) That is where most of the pings where many individuals are able to purchase have came from over the last few months.

As I have said before, if you're unhappy, I am happy to refund and cancel your subscription. I certainly don't want these errors to upset or anger.

To those of you who are standing by, I really appreciate it. Without you it wouldn't be possible.

One tidbit about code:
While a car can run with 3 wheels and half of the body missing, code is not the same way. For code to work correctly, everything must be 100% correct. I don't know if that helps, but maybe.

It is extremely hard to test every possible situation or structure that will be encountered.

If it was easy, you would never get updates for apps, windows, or any other technological device you use.

Hell, even my TV gets updates now.

All I ask for is a bit of patience, I am doing the very best I can.

No sweat man. Don't let the haters get you down . Great men often have to plow there own furrow, so the others can plant behind them. :)

Hi @Storm_ is this the type of customer blocking that's happening until items are in stock? I noticed this at Midsouth Shooter Supply while 'poking around'. (Single click on the image to expand)

Hi Kimber,

Those appear to just be server side JavaScript. That doesn't actually do the blocking, its more caches breaking that causes a bit of delay. But again, when working correctly, you would rarely notice caching delays.

Let me look up a good video on caching and Ill edit this post with the link.

Caching is actually super cool, and a very helpful and simple tool to maximize websites user capacity without needing better hardware.

Howdy guys.

Glad some of you got them.

That one was manual, not automatically detected. Saw them in-stock and quickly wrote the code to ping y'all.

Fastest keyboard in all of the south.

I haven't seen Winchester #41s before, and frankly didn't know they existed. We look everywhere for CCI #41, but that's a new one.

Adding them to scraper now.

Does anyone else see the irony, or perhaps the problem with shooters relying on companies that control the hardware for ecommerce helping elect individuals who seek to eliminate the bill of rights. And then we wonder why we "can't order".

I haven’t saw primers on sale for a long time. Got this notification on another site. Had my son pick up a few. I tried to post pictures of the add and noticed it’s against the rule. I just wanted to show everyone that you can still buy primers for $23.99 per/1000 at gun shops that’s all. Thanks to sportsman’s warehouse.

Alright Storm. I bit the bullet and signed up for your service. Don't let me down! ;)

In all seriousness though, I applaud what you are doing. Necessity is the mother of invention. Quick question though.... I signed up and my account shows "Active", but I never received a text message. I thought you've said that users should receive one or two test pings?

Welcome aboard!

Subscription status update texts go out every 15 minutes, should have just got one.

There isn't a schedule test ping, but I can force it to send you one if you like :)

Let me know!
