New Primer Notification Tool

Also another question, the APS strips are on my "Confirm ping" list

Do you want pings for APS strips to be automatic?

I know most don't have machines that accept these strips and they can become spicy firecrackers if you try to pry them out wrong..

Interesting. I thought PV had taken all of it's primers off the site.

Is it just that they only show ones that are in stock?
They take them down until they have some available. That may be a problem setting up pings if nothing is on the website for programming

They take them all off their site, and then put them back when they come in stock.

I wrote the code to make sure it doesn't 404 first, then try to parse for stock status.

But they occasionally change the URL it is appearing on.. which makes us miss.

It's all an effort to prevent bots which I understand. But I am doing my best to *respectfully* circumvent.

Much better than everyone here running distil. That would really bog their server down.

I understand everyone is anxious about the primers (And frustrated, like me, about the general mass scarcity we are facing in the firearms industry). I understand many of you don't have primers and that is how we met.

I have received a lot of anger and frustration for the third rail drop. I frankly did not trust that site upon seeing it, and had never seen primers come in stock there before. But the main thing is that I wouldn't advise anyone to purchase from a site I wouldn't buy from myself, that seems illogical.

The internet is massive and there is no way we can cover it all, there will almost certainly be other small stores I have not found. Additionally, while I don't anticipate more errors, its entirely possible there will be more.

90% of the time spent on the system (way before it was ever considered to be released to y'all, was spent ensuring it is correct for the big ones. Midway and Brownell.) That is where most of the pings where many individuals are able to purchase have came from over the last few months.

As I have said before, if you're unhappy, I am happy to refund and cancel your subscription. I certainly don't want these errors to upset or anger.

To those of you who are standing by, I really appreciate it. Without you it wouldn't be possible.

One tidbit about code:
While a car can run with 3 wheels and half of the body missing, code is not the same way. For code to work correctly, everything must be 100% correct. I don't know if that helps, but maybe.

It is extremely hard to test every possible situation or structure that will be encountered.

If it was easy, you would never get updates for apps, windows, or any other technological device you use.

Hell, even my TV gets updates now.

All I ask for is a bit of patience, I am doing the very best I can.

I’ve been watching this thread just to see how things would play out a bit. I haven’t signed up but plan to if things start happening and some primers get purchased because of it.

I just wanted to give credit/Kudos for your frankness and honesty. When anybody offers a full refund, an apology, an explanation, asks for some patience they always get credit in my book.

I think you have a great idea. I hope it works and I hope it expands to all primers.

Unfortunately one of the side effects of the way life is now days with technology, internet markets etc is that a small groups of people out there have become professional flippers. They have learned to take any hot item that is hard to get and turn into big profit. They can be pretty hard to compete with once they zero in and find a product they can make money on. Now they are doing it with components and I’m sure a percentage of primers, powder or whatever is being bought and resold on gunbroker or wherever. I’d love to know how much product actually goes to these type of buyers, maybe not as much as we assume. I wish I knew how cunning their buying process is, are we really dealing with people who buying programs “bots”? They are also tech savvy, everything is fast, auto fill and it can be hard to compete with even if you receive a notice and are fast to start the buying process. So anything the helps us commoners compete is pretty cool.

Keep tuning it up and good luck!
