New Powder Packaging and Price

I read the article on the new packaging and pricing that at least one manufacturer is going to launch. A vile of 1000 gr of powder is the latest brain storm marketing idea. Really!

Now, with the proposed changes to the packaging, you can pay even more for a smaller quantity of powder. Do you think that will drive those who horde powder to an even higher frenzy?

What will the desirability of a 1lb or an 8 lb container become. Unobtainium?

I could be all wet, but think this is one of the worst ideas any marketing dept. ever came up with (for the reloaders that is). How long will it take the reloading community to evaluate this concept?

If you load 308, you will get 22 rds from a vile of powder, 41 rounds if you use the smaller 223. Does anyone really shoot in that small a quantity of ammo?

Oh well, I guess the market will decide just how good of an idea it is.

if this is true, then the only reasonable use would be to allow us to test a powder without buying a lb or 8lb and then finding it is not the best for a situation, and having that open unused remainder sit around.

Why not in 30 gr. tubes so I don't have to weight up my loads. Thanks Perk

I have an idea, why doesnt the forum boss tell us what was real that he posted that day.

Every April Fool's, I mean 1st they outdo themselves. This one hit a bit close to home what with shortages, etc..
It's a gag guys. I got sucked in too until I realized the date. No one said anything about the article advocating storing your loaded ammo like fine wine...

The 1000 grain containers would be great for us loading for the 17HH and 17AH. It would be close to 80 rounds on that size container for powder load testing. Some of the other articles posted here on April Fools day are funny too- the ripple bullet and one about using a micro drill on extruded powders
