New Marlin/Ruger Lever Gun

My intro to lever guns was a K-Mart special. Marlin 44mag. More I read this thread, more I'm keeping it. 45-70 is tempting for a 2nd.

I’m with you, mad pig customs makes some cool modern lever guns. I still prefer steel and wood but I’ve never held one so I can’t judge it.

Have a Marlin 336 in 44 mag, they made them just a few years in the 60's. Going to do something goofy to a Browning 92 in a few months, rechamber it to 357-44 B&D.
I like wood furniture and CCH or Blued steel and would never get something with a shroud or red dot sight, but I'm not going to knock what others enjoy.
I actually don't mind some of those Taylors/Chiappa takedowns, I think they're kind of neat as everything on them has utility, like the new Ruger Marlin.
