New Lots of Lapua Brass

I need to get a bunch of brass ordered for 6BR. I have noticed quite a bit of gripeing on the small caliber forum regarding quality control in recent lots. Maybe connected to ownership change. I am aware of the little attached flap that may or may not be present in flash hole. Since mine will be a .272 neck, I guess my main concern is neck wall thickness...

Just getting started with the 6BR, and was really looking forward to using some real first class brass. Hope to get the input from those who have used recent lots

hayseed: Bought a "new" box of 100 Lapua 6BR last Sept., and it was production under the new owner,s). First thing I noticed was the sloppy printing on the box, blurred and in some cases impossible to read. There was a very small piece of brass in each & every flash hole: easily cleaned out. Case mouths were crooked/ not square with the sides of the case neck: squared with a minimum cut w/ my Forster case trimmer. My trouble began when necking down to 22BR. Evidence that the necks had not been properly annealed,,verified by Ken Markle, K&M Tool). After the problems, they were kept and used for 6BR: no problems when there was no necking down involved. Used older lot of Lapua to complete 22BR forming. Some "glitches", compared to older production, but still usable as 6BR. Hopefully they'll get their act together & return to the old high standards. Even with the problems, it is still high quality. I also have a .272" no-turn neck, loaded neck dia. is .2685": works fine. You'll like the no turn neck. P.S. Neck wall thickness same as older lots/ excellent.

1991
In 1991 Lapua became an independent limited liability company under the new name Cartridge Factory Lapua Ltd. In 1992, Lapua acquired the German cartridge factory SK Jagd- und Sportmunitions GmbH. The product line fulfills and supports the ammunition selection of the main factory.

1998
In August 1998 Patria Industries Oyj from Finland, Celsius AB from Sweden and Raufoss ASA from Norway signed an agreement to affiliate the companies into a Nordic Nammo Group, which started its operations in the summer of 1988. In Finland Nammo Lapua Oy became part of the Nammo Group.

2005
Nammo AS ownership changed: 50% owned by Patria Oyj and 50% by the Norwegian government.

Nothing new has happened since 2005 that we know of...
