New lothar walther drop in .22lr on cz455.

I went to the range today and shot the new Lothar Walther drip in .22lr barrel. I shot Federal, Eley contact, PMC and SK sd plus. It shot 225 rnds. I expected it can shoot 1/2" MOA after 100 rnds. I'm wondering it may take more shots to break in and try more brands later. 12.24.2020-50yds.JPG12.24.2020-50yds1.JPGLW-22barrel.JPGcz-455-LW-barrel1.JPG

Very nice. How many rnds has it taken to break in? and do you need to adjust the turner on different ammo?

and what trigger do you use? My trigger creeps so much. But Tommy trigger only go down to 2lbs. I like 1lb trigger.

My CZ-455 does not have threads on the barrel/receiver juncture. The barrel is held on with two set screws. What gives?

It took about 400 rounds to settle in. Yes you will have to tune to the ammo.

Cool. Perspective in the photo makes it look a larger diameter than the other end. I'll assume you have/want a suppresor. Were those targets fired with/without a suppresor? 50 or 100 yds.?

The set screws are on the bottom of the action. The action must be removed from the stock to see them. Check youtube for CZ455 barrel replacement and you will see plenty of examples

If you have to keep adjusting the tuner for different ammo you haven't found the right tuner setting. once you find the right setting, it will shoot any good lot.

thanks good to know. I have pretty limited experience with a tuner but working with it.

Charliphoo: Give ELEY Target a try. I've been getting .54" average for 10, 5-shot groups out of my CZ-455. And that's with the factory barrel. Of the cheaper stuff GECO Rifle seems to be about the best on mine.

Best of luck to you.

I don't have Eley target, but I tried some other ammos. Eley match seems doing better now.
