I say we make it a 1/4 minute target, 5 consecutive hits, no sighters, no magnification devices and it must be done in 60 seconds from first trigger press to last bullet striking. Bipods are for vegans, as are those arm-sling things. Making it too easy degrades long-range shooting and doesn't mean much. The standard should be something like three consecutive hits in a half minute circle within ten minutes. Sixty-nine shots with one hit doesn't mean much. Take as many sighters as you like, but hit three in a row when you declare for record.
1,092 MOA, we used a Charlie and Delta TARAC in addition to a 350 moa base on the 40 moa action.I musta missed it, what’s the aim point at 4.4 miles? What did the shooter see in the scope?
6.5 creedmoor obviously…..Maybe I missed it but what was the caliber?
You are entitled to your opinion. As with your eliminatory orifice, everybody's got one.I say we make it a 1/4 minute target, 5 consecutive hits, no sighters, no magnification devices and it must be done in 60 seconds from first trigger press to last bullet striking. Now, who can set some stricter rules?
I am off to the fast car forum to tell drag racers that their speed doesn't count unless they go around a track 500 times, making only left turns.

The followng shots are from a demo in Oman, September 1987. The first shows the target vehicle at 1580 meters from the firing position. The M82 barrel can be seen at lower left. I was firing M8 API.
The second shows the results of three shots, one sighter that impacted about four feet left. There was some crosswind that day.
It was expected that potential customers would request demonstration at 1600 meters since we advertised that as effective range. Three shots is a reasonable standard.

I was shooting FN M8, pulled from belts that morning. From a SA rifle with a 10x Leupold M3 Ultra scope and made three consecutive hits. That was the point. Could @NomadRifleman make three at 4.4 miles? It would be quite impressive, if achieved.Great shooting. I couldn't do it.
You're only about 3.4 miles short of NomadRifleman's record.

While serving on a Gearing Class Can with 5" 38 twin mounts, we consistently scored 98% or better from ten miles. So what?
Nice. You talk to your Mama with that mouth?Apples and oranges DA. Jeff
Granted, the drag race guys do not have to turn, but they do have to back a potential record up at the event.I am off to the fast car forum to tell drag racers that their speed doesn't count unless they go around a track 500 times, making only left turns.
That’s almost exactly what my Great Grandfather told Wilbur and Orville Wrightextensive waste of money to me. but whatever floats their boat
uh huh, well when that 35 pound rifle gets off the ground and sustains flight by way of its own power you just let me know. That’s almost exactly what my Great Grandfather told Wilbur and Orville Wright
