New Lenox Ordnance Cut Rifle Barrels

Looking over their web site, I saw nothing about lapping, and one of the pictures seemed to confirm that, Judging by the surface finish. Perhaps the military does not expect eighth minute accuracy from their rifles.

Site says the barrels are all hand lapped. Brian.

My bad. but I did see what looked like an unlapped bore in a picture there. Actually I am glad to be wrong about their process because we can always use another good barrel maker, and without that step they would have been automatically rejected. Good catch.

You cant tell if a barrel is lapped by a picture. Lapping doesnt remove tool marks big enough to see in a picture. Those cant be saved. Gotta start smooth to end smooth.
Some of these new barrel makers these days should just go ahead and chrome line the bores and be done with it. Ive seen some bad ones. I guess all those hundreds of new AR rifle builders needed components and if it looked rifled thats all that mattered.

Yes, that is the one. I will be interested in what they get back to you with, and if you decide to pull the trigger what your experience is with the product(s).

From what i can find they build testing systems, to include barrels. I didn't find any mention of non commercial sakes.

Not tooled up for 7mm, so no quote right now.

I asked what they were primarily tooled up to produce, haven't heard back yet.
