Hi
I have received from Lee at Border Barrels on the New IOR scope 12-52x56
Andy

Hi
at present we don't intend to stock this model [New IOR scope 12-52x56]/B] because it's first focal plane and not everyone's cup of tea in the UK.

the scopes are available on special order with a non-returnable part payment from you, the time to receive the order will take approx. 4 weeks to reach us from Romania.

The price is £1165 for scope then £24 courier to you. the scope does not come with free mounts as they are extra like the other models.

Valdada optics is planning to have them in later this year. When? I understand they are going to be about $3000. Val is very easy to work with. Their web site www.valdada.com is down when I just tried it. It will probable be up again later.

I have a IOR have been wondering about this one coming out. However for the price how would anyone not buy the S&B police marksman? I am not saying a mistake just wondering myself since the S&B would have almost twice the resale value IMHO. I better be one hell of a scope for 3k or so. Again I own a new high power IOR not trying to bash them. PG

We show this new scope together with IOR at the IWA in Nürnberg.
It`s a great heavy scope with 40mm maintube and 100 MOA.
IOR uses the new Fluorid Glas from Schott Germany (Zeiss) to get the best performance.

It will be available about end of this year and in the US - Valdada is your partner.

I don`t know the price but it won`t be very cheap. In Austria / Germany we have to add 20% VAT too - thats your advantage in the US because you have no VAT.

But a 20% VAT on all products would be a nice idea for you in the US too. So Obama can close his budget holes and can start his social insurance projekt :D

;D No. But Arnold comes from Styria in Austria too !!! To his home in Austria I drive only 45 minutes ;)
But if you are interessted I can get his follower ;D I`m not the terminator but I can calculate very good - this is more important in CA.

I have a small company and before I worked as an weapon designer for many gun manufactur. Last for SigSauer (I have developed the P250 and also the Sig SP2022 for french police was one of my projects). There I learned its cheaper to manufacture pistol slides in the US, ship them to Germany, assamble it and send it back to the US.
In europe we have high VAT rates, high tax rates, a very expensive sozial system (sozial insurance, retirement pension insurance, accidant insurance etc...), we have to pay for a big mass of politicans and now for many many EU politicans too and everything "must" be payed to the state or you go in prison. Thats the reason why we in europe are not competitive and it would be stupid for the US when they copy this system because it don`t work - but it would be good for us !!!
Very funny: in UK they have much lower VAT rates and the people pay 50% less state taxes and sozial isurance than in Austria - and UK is not a 3 world country....
Start a state controlled sozial insurance system and some decades later you get the invoice for it. But then its the problem of another president ::)

;D I have a hard time seeing social security coming out of my check for someone elses retirment, much less a social health program, mortgage insurance and the like. :P

Take a look on the new 3,5-18x50 and 6-18x56 with FFP and Touch System.
They are the most proven last generation scopes from IOR, highend optics and offer best performance for longrange shooting.

Michael,
As cool as Austria & Germany probably are, I would opt for Switzerland where they issue selective fire weapons to all the males + ammo. How cool is that???

Switzerland has like Austria a militia system. That means: every man must go to the army for a limited time so you can reach the highest level of protection in a emergency situation.
Switzerland has the best system and for their system (and the small country) it is necessary that everyone has his rifle at home because in an emergency situation every soldier is armed very fast and can go armed and protected to his military base. So Switzerland reach a very high (or the highest) defense potential and I don´t think any country arround Switzerland will risk to aggress against them. Next to this, this system strength the cohesion of the puplic and patriotism - thats nowadays in my opinion a very important.

Another point is that Switzerland is a real democratic country and in my opinion a democratic country can only exist when the puplic is armed.
In Germany the first step of the Nazis was to introduce a weapon regulation system and all firearms must be registered. Some years ago, jud`s were declared as "non credible" and they lost the right to own firearms (after the registration it was easy to collect all firearms) and after that, every non member of the "Nationalsozialistische Partei" party lost his firearm and that was the beginning of the holocaust and about 6 millions of people lost their life and get murdered by the Nazis.

In Austria since the WWII no rifles and shotguns must be registrated. A fact of the historical experience - and it works well and Austria is one of the safest countries in europe and we also don`t have more Suizides than other countries.
Now the state (and stupid politicans) make a new gun law and every rifle must be registrated. Next to this they want to eliminate our militia system and after that we have lost our freedom and our possibility to defend our small country.
Everything go wrong in this world, important laws are made without public opinion polls, but I`m happy that our new state secretary is 24 years old and earns 14.000 € / month...
I`ve also lost my patriotism after I calculated that I have to pay twice income tax and social security tax than people in Great Britan. And GB is not a third world country...

Edit from 13.05.2011:
I forget another interessting info: Switzerland has atomic bunkers for "every" person in the country !!! Next to the best militia defense system everyone is able to alive a worldwide atomic war !!!
And now take a look to the army in your country and ask, if they offer you the same service for your tax money.

Some more info on the "Touch" system too.
My only complaint with IOR ( having owned a couple for a number of years) is that warranty work is painfully complicated/slow....

Thats because IOR`s home is in Romania / Europe !!! Thats like the same trouble we have in europe with Leupold scopes.
But IOR is thinking to build up a competent repair center in the US to improve the service.

I`ve sold a lot of the last generation IOR`s with touch system and no warranty work was necessary until now ;)
