Good Afternoon All:
I'm in the process of having one of my rifles converted more into a LG configuration for 1000 yard BR shooting. I currently have an IOR 6-24X...that I'll be selling to fund the purchase of a new scope. I've been kicking around whether I should get the 8-32X BR NightForce or the 12-42X. I already have an 8-32X on another rifle and have been very pleased...but that rifle is more of a varmint rig. I'm wondering if I can use the whole 42X?? And, if I'll potentially run out of adjustments?? I ran some data on Exbal...looks like I need about 25 m.o.a come ups to reach 1K from a 100 yard zero with the estimates of my new round, 6.5mm-08 Ackley Improved or .260 Remington Improved with a 40 degree shoulder.) I have a 20 m.o.a one piece base already.
Any insight form those of you in the know would be greatly appreciated!! I'll apologize if I don't respond immediately to further questions...my wife, kids and I are leaving early in the morning for a weeks vacation...fishing.
Thanks in advance,
Wayne
