New IMR Powder's ??

Has any one tested the new powders in a 243AI?? I am getting ready to get mine back and wondering how they do with 105 class bullets??

Powder in question is IMR 4166, 4451, 7977

Just buy 1 pound of the powder and try it unless there is no data as of yet. You can call hodgdon and I am sure they will advise which one to try.

Just now did a test wth 4166 and my new Krieger in Dasher.

As it got near 3000 fps with 105's I noted some "spikes" in the velocity. Not once, often from about 33.0 to 33.4 gr. Never could get this 30" bb.
to go much into the 3,000's without both pressure signs and spikes. ES was bad and accuracy a joke.

Did not push my Varget loads above about 2950 fps. All those did seemed normal with good ES. Will probably forget the 4166 and do my next test session with Varget as usual. At least I tried.
