New Iight Varmint 30BR

I decided a while back to build a LV Rifle to shoot in NBRSA Registered Group Matches. Since I make my own 30 caliber 112’s, I figured I would give it a shot.

the stock is a Robertson I traded for that I had to remold in way of the action. The action is a Bat Neuvo R/L right eject. The trigger is a Bix&Anndy, the scope is a March High Master 48x, sitting in Bat rings.

I left it a bolt in, as the bedding came out great, but I can always glue it for a “screwed and glued” Setup.

The barrel is a Krieger 1-18 twist, cut to 22 inches and 78 ounces. The tuner is my own.

It has been years since I shot a LV 30BR.

You should be able to play hell with the PPC’s as long as your shoulder doesn’t give out. I’ve considered this a bunch of times, but have yet to try it.

Nice! Do you shoot it free recoil?
Yes, I do shoot free recoil. I have shot a 10 1/2 pound 30BR some years back, it wasn’t that bad, but then, I was a lot younger.

I shot my HV 30BR at the Texas State 100 yard this year, doing pretty good against a field of PPC’s. I didn’t win, but did come out ahead of 98% of them.

I guess I will see.

I changed barrels. The first one, a brand new Krieger blank I had, just did not seem to want to shoot.

So I took a proven barrel that I had previously had on my Farley HV 30BR, chopped the chamber off, and chambered it for the Bat Neuvo.

Right off the bat, it shot my load of 34.8 grns of 4198 behind my own 112 grn bullet. I played with the tuner, and then shot these 4 best groups In a right to left condition. I am very pleased.
