Hello, I've just joined the forum, and thought I'd pop over here and start a thread in "Small Stuff" since that is what my latest interest is.
I purchased this rifle simply because it was too good of a deal to pass up, and seemed to fill a gap in my small caliber line-up. For many years I've shot and loaded for a sweet little 218 Bee, in Winchester Model 43, and a tack driving 222 Rem in Model 700 ADL. This 22BR just kind of popped up, and was the kind of thing I'd have never spent the money for if it hadn't been a rippin deal.

It's a late seventies vintage with a 20 inch barrel, slow 1/14 twist, with a Leupold 24X fixed power scope. Maybe someone can tell me what those mounts are, I've never seen them before.

Condition is very good, hardly fired from the looks of it, and I guess it's now probably the nicest rifle I own. I've put a little over two hundred rounds through it, and am still at the roughing out stage of my experimenting and reloading technique for it.
My best groups so far are in the .3's which to a lot of guys seems to mean that it's a real lemmon. :
I think I'm finally on the right track with a few things, and expect it to shape up a bit as I learn better case prep and such. I just scored several different bullets from 50 gr. on down at our local gun show, so I'll be able to try a lot of different things as I have time to. Best bullets so far have been 40 gr. V-Max, and powders have been BLC, H335, and Benchmark. Been using CCI 450 primers, but just found some Small Rifle BR-4's to try.
There isn't a ton of load data out there for this cartridge, so I'd enjoy hearing from folks who know more about this than I do. Any info about the rifle itself would be welcome also. I've learned a lot but it's still kind of a mystery to me. Thanks for looking. jd
