I've owned a few small business and back in 2004 saw the trend coming, was getting really hard to get good labor so sold my brick & mortar businesses and started doing subcontracting. So much easier than making payroll and doing open till close! We're glad you're here!Today's small business that requires skilled labor certainly has its challenges.
Welcome. I have more JGS reamers than I care to admit. Your .02 I'm sure will be beneficial here.Well after years of hearing the wonders of this forum I decided I'd join up.
I've worked at JGS Precision well before I should have been working.
In middle school I was designing JGS catalogs.
In high school I was learning "Virtual Gibbs" (now Gibbs Cam).
First my SHOT Show was 1996 (at 16).
Fast-forward to 2021, my father Ken had an accident and had to retire so now I'm doing my best to steer production and keep our family business moving forward.
Like many in the 2020s I've been spending most of my spare time doing gun-hobby stuff. I've inherited a ton of generational gear so a lot of it is based around repurposing the family horde. I do a fare amount of "product testing" making a barrel here and there, a wild cat here and there. More of a maker than a shooter but trying to get out and shoot more.
As sponsor I'm here the help, as gun hobby guy I'm here to share my random rifle projects, give my 2 cents and good advice is welcome.
How big of a bonus? In typical GM role if your talking to me somebody/something messed up, as they say somebody has to do it.
I'll be sure to let her know she's appreciated.
We always love the requests for "what's your most popular free bore" , etc. Somebody did the work, its not JGS's place to give it away to sell tools. In my opinion JGS makes the best reamer you can buy. Id say I probably have about 200. Issues are so few are far between I cant say I have much experience with customer service but when I have its been handled very fast. The other thing I very much appreciate is they do not share your prints without permission. I have had customers pass away, give me reamers, or bought reamers in the past. They wont even give me the print unless I show an obituary or permission from the original designer. Thats how it should be.
