New Garmin?

The Garmin C2 is now in stock at Anarchy Outdoors for $599 and use the code AO2026 for additional 10% discount if you're interested.
As I do not use AB, it doesn't do anything I need.

I think the $599 was an error that has now been corrected. They also make you add the protective cover for an extra $30 even though it is included in the box for $699.99 from Garmin. 10% discount code helps though.

This is what I hate about electronics. They have a product. After a year or two they begin to discount it as sales slow. What to do? Make some improvements, mostly software. So they make that a reason to come out with a new model at the original over inflated price. Enough people will see the 'greatly improved model' as something they need to have and buy it, hoping to sell off their old one. More new sales, profits stay up.

The new version will be changed enough so the old ones cannot be upgraded. That way they still get new sales. The original owners are 'stuck' with a product the mfg now admits was inferior to start with.

Just wait til the C3 comes out in a few years. It will be really special. :)

Me? I still have my original Labradar that works just fine. Maybe by the time the C4 comes out C1 prices will be low enough for me to buy another chrono. :)

Only the C2 version can resume sessions and that feels like a betrayal to me. If you are going to update the product, then update the firmware and software of the whole line.
Seems pretty scummy not to. Not sure I want to invest in the products of a company that does business this way.

It seems the main advance is the speed (number of shots in rapid fire) which would have required new processors. Likely of less utility to many here. My interest is simply in getting a smaller form factor. Otherwise the old LabRadar works beautifully.
