New Garmin Xero C1 Radar Chronograph

I owned a labradar for three days. It never picked up a single shot so back it went. While this looks like a great improvement, I decided my Oehler 35P will hang around if I ever decide I want to know a velocity.

For the games I play, I really don’t care about the velocity. All that matters is the size of the group on paper. The target tells me that for free.

This Garmin sure does have the cool factor though.

Dave.

I am on the waiting list, but something to think about. You can not have any electronics on the line in a match. So why would you ditch a Labradar for something smaller if you only doing load develovpmet? Size does not matter, maybe not at the range but other places yes.

Just guessing, but I think guys are interested in gaining more dependable performance and ease of use since the shortcomings of Labradar are pretty well publicized. I don't think it's an accident that about 10 Labs have gone on sale here in the last day or so.

based on a previous comment that garmin would not change the battery after warranty period,i called them. i was told they wont change the battery but would send a replacement unit for a service charge.she didnt know the details but should come out shortly.
I would be very interested in amount of the service charge. If it's reasonable that would allay my major concern and I will buy one.

The battery will probably last at least 5 years, probably 10. There are lots of devices that claim the battery can't be changed but 99% you can. Iphone is one thing that you supposedly can't change but I have. There will be a YouTube video on it when one fails.

It sounds like the battery life (per charge) is exceptionally good on these... Good batteries last for thousands of cycles now. I wouldn't worry about it.

Since I've ordered this Garmin, I got to thinking how I might use it with the other sport I'm involved with . . . GOLF, to either measure clubhead speed or golf ball exit speed. Thought I'd see if Garmin already had something, and they did o_O. It came out a couple years ago and now they can be had for less than $500. Damn Garmin, now I want one of these:

Shot mine this morning.

Delightful. Nothing else to say.

Tiny.

Never missed a shot. I picked it up and moved it between my rifle and Lauren's rifle and the thing never missed a shot.

Rub it in. So will i even though i dont get mine till next weekimage001.jpeg

Guys, guys... The battery is indeed replaceable. Just need a T2 driver. You can even buy it on Amazon.

With that said, the battery should last forever. Anyone who owns Garmin products, knows this... They are known for incredible efficiency in battery usage. I own several of their watches, bike computers, etc.

I would just like to say that I fully support the Labradar guys. They have been great to me. I actually feel sorry for them trying to keep up with these corporate behemoths. It must be a NIGHTMARE trying to compete in the tech world. Oh, I could tell you some stories. But I won't.

Maybe people should keep in mind that the Labradar is a US based company. Just a bunch of guys, just like us.

Just imagine if someone started importing rifle barrels from the EU or China or Taiwan. Heck, it might happen yet.... With the sole purpose of running all of us out of business. Shoot man, that might be in the works as we speak.
LabRadar has no one to blame, but themselves. Their inability to take feedback and implement it caused several companies/people to see an opportunity and make alternatives. I don’t feel sad for LR at all, they also aren’t a US company.
