New Fclass build need advice suggestions.

Ok looking to build a Fclass rig and need some advice on components. I am trying to locate a action quickly what would you guys recomend. Also if anyone has or knows where a good action is let me know.

Thanks Corey

Been looking at those KRG rifle stocks.. which go great with the T3, just wonder if the rear end of the stock will ride a bag well.

Buy Once, Cry once. Build the best you, cant afford it right now, save yer pennies. Buy components as you get the jing.

Really cant go wrong with any of the custom actions, stick with the main players & you wont get stuck with an oddball. BAT, Kelby, Borden, Pierce, Stiller, to name a few. In the event you need some emergency cash, you can turn those actions around for almost what you paid.

Stocks, again stick with something known and proven. Russo, Sitman, Precision Rifle & Tool, McM, Robertson, etc..

Brunos always seems to have a few BATS in stock, check Russ Haydons, watch the for sale ads here and on BRC..

Money & Time, Time & Money are the main factors. Good Luck and keep us posted. Mr. B has some good advice!!

This is very good unbiased advise, I would like to add that you may wish to also look at the Eliseo Tube Gun stock.
It works very well for all F/class formats....Give Gary a ring as well...

Just got my Eliseo B1-Barnard F/TR (308 1x12 Bartlein 32", Med Palma contour) finished, will get a chance to use it in a match next weekend.

Not to hijack but... rinoray, what does your rig weigh? I have one on order, will be using Pierce long action and Krieger heavy palma 30". Noticed you're from TN, shooting AEDC next week? If so, Saturday or Sunday? I'm going to be there spectating for long range on Sunday.

For OP, obviously I agree with what John and rinoray posted regarding the Eliseo setup. And I chose John Pierce's long action to go in it. There were several actions I considered and probably wouldn't have gone wrong with any of them but for this build I think I made the best choice. Not sure where you could get any good action quick except watching the items for sale on the forum.

MT Guns has Barnard P and S actions in inventory and can ship on receipt of payment and a FFL.

Can't go wrong with MT Guns, great company and folks to work with!

I picked up a Barnard P and and a McGee laminated F-Tr stock from Mac and Bruce at MT Guns. These guys are great! The plan is for a switch barrel rig; .308 with a 5r palma contour Krieger, and .284 Shehane with a Barlein 5r from Robert Whitley. It is all at Accuracy Unlimited in Medford, Wi being assembled by Randy Gregory.

Don't hesitate on the Barnard, they are amazing!

There were a lot of big name shooters with Barnard actions at the Fclass nationals in Lodi this year. I have a Barnard P action and Vee block just waiting for the other components to arrive for my 2nd Fclass rifle.

Surgeon makes a good action also. I just got a Bat SV with Shurley Brothers stock and Bartline in 6BRX. I mostly shoot 600 yards for now though. I love the Bat actions. But Surgeon or Peirce actions will be my next choice for tactical and 1000 yards in 6.5x47 lapua.

I just ordered a Panda Fclass from Kelblys, I went with a dual port with pic rail. What port configuration is most popular for fclass. If I need to change I have plenty of time looking at 6 month wait.

I use right side ports, no ejector. There is plenty of time during pit service to remove the cartridge and load another. I am right-handed.

BTW, the Panda F-Class is an excellent choice. I prefer a long action for cartridges over 3.0" OAL but a short action will work, too. A short action may require removing the bolt to extract a loaded cartridge. but that is a rare occurrence.

This rifle will serve double duty as a HV BR gun also so I decided to go dual port. Should I have gotten ejector ?

Ejector? Personal preference.. Ask yourself if you want to push/dig out an empty with your fingers? Dont want to? Call em back quick...

I prefer an ejector.

Only because I hate the wait, the first thing I do is go to Shooters Corner and look through THE LIST. used rifles. I bought a used Panda off the list and my wife won money at the supershoot with it. I bought a used Teddy from Bruno and won money at the Nationals with it. Used can be OK. We bought a Teddy from Kelblys and had to wait about a hunnert years for it. Kelblys are aces with me but the wait drives me crazy (putts me crazy). I think Bob White keeps Pandas in stock too. The other guys mentioned are ok too far as I hear. Just telling about the ones I dealt with.
