New f-open record or not?

If the rules allow it, its fair to everyone....

With live pits, fast pullers verses slow pullers, also can make a huge difference, that one could say the same thing about. My favorite puller of all time (@Rtheurer) consistently had the target back up in less then 10-seconds (less then 8-seconds on most pulls).

Yes the majority of experienced guys pull really well and it’s the difference in win or lose if any shooter gets off pace too far. I prefer manual targets but can’t ignore the fairness of a level field.

Best Complement I have received in years.... Thank you sir. I take a lot of pride in 7 to 10 second pit service for shooters who are hammering the middle.

Shoot em in the middle.

So what does that mean? He broke the rules? Should have bs-ed with his buddy between shots? What?

First, I'd say switch to decaf by way of a slow transition of half-caf.

It means he shot awesome with little time to study the conditions between shots. In short-"damn he's good". I shot with Steve (he scored for me) and learned a lot from him at this event. This was my first time competing at 600 and watching him and a few others compete was extremely helpful.

The comment on speed was due to the crowd of us spectating/quietly cheering him on as he shot. There was one other competitor on his relay that also shot just as fast. We were keeping tabs on both of them due to the speed and accuracy of both. It became a horse race for us. Who could finish first but still maintain accuracy.

Often in these threads when we are congratulating a shooter you will see some jealously or spite come out. Usually comments like, he shot so fast, he free recoiled the rifle, or I've never seen conditions so good.... Just a snide comment to cut down the accomplishment. I dont have any patience for that stuff. It looks like I have taken your comment the wrong way. I apologize.

I have often told people that the most stress I feel is when pulling targets or keeping score. If I screw-up shooting, well that is on me, no problem. If I screw up pulling or scoring I feel terrible. I did a terrible pulling job at Oak Ridge a few years ago, when I could not see the impact in a deep pocket hole in the berm. The shooter was mad as he should have been, but I could not see or hear the bullet. Someone felt sorry for me and came over to help. Well he could not see or hear the bullet either! With a quality e-target system that does not happen. Yes, there are other issues, but we can and will work them out.

Even at 70, I can turn a target alone when there is a decent berm impact area in about 8 seconds, if, as many have said the guy is shooting 10s and Xs. I spoke up at the 2016 Nationals to the NRA representative about mandating a minimum 6 to 8 second delay in displaying a shot placement on e-targets. I was for the most part shut down. For good or bad, e-targets are here to stay. I do not really care if there were any records shot. I had fun and the great people at the Port Malabar Club put on a great match. JMHO

Awesome shooting Steve! Don't worry about Kevin, that was back in his sandbagging expert days, He is a much older high master now! Man bun, well, he is what he is, a young pup yet. You however, do not age! So you not only have experience on him but wisdom as well! Always remember my 6 favorite words. I kicked Kenny Adams ass today! I do not get to say it that often, but when I get the chance I always tell him. That's what he gets for being the world champion! Do not pass up the chance to rub it in to him, he can take it. Hope to see you up here at Lodi this year. Don't bring that gun tho, please.

Thanks Bob. I doubt I will ever say those 6 word, but the 1, 800 and 2, 900 meter day match in Canada even in 25th palce, put me ahead of most all my heros. I guess I can even shoot fast with pulled targets AND pair firing, ha, ha. Between you, John D, Danny, Larry Bart and Kenny I have learned so much. I am coming to Lodi and will NOT be bringing the Dasher. Working on 2, 284s that will likely have to do the job. Very much looking forward to Lodi. That will be my big 2018 long range F-Class. See you there.

Great Steve, .284 will work ok. Better yet, bring that Dasher! Lodi is no place for it. Even Brian can't shoot one there.
Ok, got it. I will bring the dasher to the match, but leave it in the trunk;) 284 or 7rsaum at the line.

See ya, Steve
