New f-open record or not?

600-44Xs is listed as the National Record, but I thought Brian Bowling has shot >44 Xs a time or two. Has the website been updated?

Steve, great shooting! That is an amazing score, kudos to you and your rig. Amazing.

Theres way too many F-class records and I am not up on them, so if there are any experts that know exactly what record or records this breaks let us know. Thanks

In order for national records to be recognized promptly, national record reporting forms must be submitted to NRA by the statistical officer of the registered tournament in which they were fired after being certified by the jury chairman or referee.

Reads like a couple set new records. Steve set the highest in both 180 shot score and X count. Hope it's is certified for him.

Larry, It has always been my goal to shoot as well as Kenny Adams did a few years ago, when he shot a 600/600-50X. That was in a team match, but he was very likely calling the shots himself. I have never thought it would be possible to come close, but now seems it possible. The conditions were good, but not great. I gave up a big hand-full of points on Thursday, when trying to watch the flags. Very bad idea at Port Malabar. Kenny is still one of my heros along with several others on the list you provided.

Well you passed Kenny for the overall record he had in the full 180 shot event. Now I sure hope it is certified and your name rests in the record books.

Great shooting Steve. I also believe that is the 600 pt record also. I don't think that Brian or anyone else has beaten Dwayne's record in a registered match.

CaptainMal,
Steve Krauss’ 600-47x is an outstanding score and should be in the record books. The agg score I am not sure about due to the NRA’s lack of an updated rule book.

I believe the records you listed above are FC FullBore records not HP FC records. They were shot at 3,5,6,9 & 1k yards in a Fullbore Championship.

The NRA rules http://rulebooks.nra.org/documents/pdf/compete/RuleBooks/HPR/hpr-book.pdf and the available updates http://rulebooks.nra.org/documents/pdf/compete/rules/rul_hpr_17.pdf are somewhat messed up and I am not even sure there is record recognized as a 600 yard 3 string 6 shot record. The update does not denote whether the recognized 600 yd record is for sling or FC. This needs to be clarified by the NRA.
I thought you would like to know about the error.

Congrats Steve, what great shooting!

With Steve's permission, here are screenshots from his shooting on Friday.

To put things in proportion, this is what a six hundred yard F-Class clean looks like, clustered inside a 36" diameter aiming black...

A tight little knothole like that really deserves zooming in a bit to properly appreciate. Remember the grid lines (just barely visible at the edges of these screenshots) are spaced at 1MOA. Steve started the day with a group 3.2" wide by 3.2" high and scored 200-15X:

The second match of the day was a 200-18X. Steve I have to ask you, did your heart stop when you saw where your third shot for record landed?(!!)

And the final string of the day had the sighters print a bit high but it would seem Steve was on top of things:

This is where I found those records:

http://compete.nra.org/national-records.aspx

Kind of agree it's hard to pin down just what the individual 600 yard record is for 180 shots. There is another category for just 20 shots and maybe more. Kind of hard to pin down. The one I got the information from is the one with the highest scores.

YOU look.

Sure like those screenshots. Wish we had something like that in benchrest.

I set it last year at Red Wing with a 600 49X at the regional match! Before that Dwayne Draggoo had it with a 600 42x

Well congratulations 6mmTAC40. I was hoping that someone had a better score. As I mentioned earlier my goal was always to beat a 600-50x shot by Kenny Adams. That was a team match, but now still a goal for us all to try to beat. Great shooting on the 600-49x. I know the NRA is not as timely as they should be in posting these records. Well I had my 10 minutes of fame.;) You are da man to beat.

2016 was when they Created a 600 Agg, Dwayne Dragoo was the first to submit with his 600 42x and had to stand for one years time being a new eligible record so when I shot mine in July of last year it will also have to stand for one year before going down in the books unless someone breaks it before then,
That's how the NRA explained it to me last year
