This thing wants me to sign in to prove I'm not a bot. No wayJose. I tried looking on Garmin's website for a contact to ask them where their chrono is made, but contacting them seems to require a product code or number. Does anyone that has one know? Is the Athlon made in USA? Dumb question, huh?
so you have to be signed in to use this athlon? As in connected to the net somhow? thats not gonna fly. Mabie youll have to signup to Musks starlink system to be able to use the thing

I’m too happy with the Garmin. It just works, easy to navigate, long battery life, no missed shots. Gonna be a tough market to break into.
im happy with the garmin to. mabie mine needs an airtag on it though— anyway i bet there is a whole another tier of people who dont wanna pay the 600 but would go for the 350– at 350 you and I may buy an Athlon just to play around with it and see how it works. if they do work i bet they sell alot of them.

PS —my garmin is made in Taiwan to.

It looks like a Garmin Xero, you got to give them that. $350 is what I believe he said in the video.
mabie garmin will have to meet their price. Im sure garmin anticipated competition and tried to get all they could at the start because they knew the market wouldnt last forever. the caldwell is coming out to. It would seem just a matter of time before AB and others come out with these units to work with their solvers.

I quickly watched the video. If it sends the info directly to AB ballistics via Bluetooth, that's a plus for some I guess. I have the Garmin and am perfectly happy with it. I really only use it to get a baseline, or, more on the 22 when lot testing. As far as Asian manufacturing, guys will buy a Teslong when the superior product is US made? I own the Hawkeye.

Hey...when $50 tells ya 90+% of what a $900 borescope can, I can understand most people going the Teslong route...I've owned both and sold the Hawkeye..fwiw. Gradient Lens Corp is/was never in business to cater to the gun industry. It was an afterthought that they simply capitalized on. Can't fault them for it.

ive got a hawkeye and a teslong like ive got an oehler 33- a labradar and a garmin. its evoulution. That said im an old school guy and i dont want to be hooked to the internet when im shooting and i dont want my scope to be hooked to my solver which is hooked to my chrono. I want my shooting to be the results of what skill i have even though its not much. if it gets to a point where everything is automatic and you push a button and and score a bullseye ill Quit.

Nothing wrong with competition. It will keep everyone striving to improve. It would be neat to try one and compare it to the Garmin. Guess that is fclass john’s job. My guess is it performs better.

The cream always rises to the top.
Im sure athlon knew people would need a reason to buy their product over whats out there. Id like to see one. i to believe competition is good. it took it a long time for it to get into the chrono market. now thats its here hopefully it benefits us all.

I'm not saying it isn't a great option. I've recommended it to several. I'm saying the people who have an issue with Chicom products have selective issues. I personally don't care.

I totally agree with you though. That's why I said, "when feasible." $50 vs $900 is not an apples to apples comparison, especially so when the end result is not a lot different. I'd pay $100 for the same thing made in the USA, though...or close to it. Just to support my country, it's entrepreneurs.. and to keep/create jobs HERE...That benefits us all, imho. I'm totally against stealing intellectual property, but China and other countries do it to us pretty much all the time. They probably stole borescope/fiber optic from us, to begin with. So, screw em back! Same for tiktok!!! Screw tiktok and copy it in an American version that doesn't let them spy on us!! Few people today view our communist adversaries as what they truly are...our mortal enemy. China, at the very top of that list.

That said...if a nafta member does the same, there should be an extradtion clause for anyone copying our intellectual property. It's happening already but we aren't doing anything about that...and SHOULD! tHERE'S A cANADIEN MFG THAT IS COPYING SEVERAL aMERICAN SHOOTING PRODUCTS AND SELLING THEM WORLDWIDE WITHOUT THE SAME RESTRICTIONS THAT OUR GOVT PLACES UPON US. (sorry for caps). Just look at Bruno's website.

I'll say it...the same company sells an exact copy of my original(no longer made)tuner but they can't offer a single bit of tech support that isn't stolen from my original printed instruction sheet. I no longer do any sales nor instruction unless by phone.

Now, if you wanna compare a common front rest design to the USA made rest I use, that pre-dates ANY imported rests of similar design...I'd love to show it to you and see how similar they are. I'm done with supporting other countries stealing our products and selling it back to us. Compare and you WILL see, who copied who...once again!!

There's also a tuner maker out there that claims to know how to use his own product...but is sworn to secrecy, so won't tell YOU how to use their product because he swore not to share what someone else had to tell him. IOW, someone had to tell him how to use his own product that he sells to you...but he can't tell ya the "secret sauce", because he's sworn to secrecy, or something. Lol! But...he'll send you one if you pay him first. Lol! I'm not(and couldn't) making this up. There are videos out there saying what I'm telling ya!

There is STILL such a thing as American inginuity...it just gets built elsewhere, today, or stolen.

Is atholon made in the states... or assembled here.
China, where, I believe .
I did notice one very unique feature apart from the Garmin, as mentioned above. For the long range crowd, not real familiar with mil-dots and some of the rather complex reticles, once you get data on your load, there’s a feature you can call up reticle choices and it shows your hold at distance. Pretty neat assuming it actually works. Nice, but not enough for me to sell my Garmin.
