New die advice?

I'm looking at buying a new resizing die. I've got a few questions regarding my options I'm looking at. The redding type s fl sizing 243 with the 6mm carbide sizing button option and proper bushings is one option. The other option is to keep using my foster fl sizing die and buying a lee collet 243 to do the neck tensioning. I have 4 243's that I reload for but the reason I'm looking at this option is for a ar243 and im wanting to size the neck -.002" and bump the shoulder back -.003", plus it will be nice to have another sizing die to leave setup for one of the other 243. Which rout would you go? Any pros or cons to eather?

Lol honestly I'm not even sure I have the redding type s figured out right. How does it resize with the button and then size the neck with the bushing?

You take the button off if using a bushing.

With the Redding die either use the expander ball or a bushing but not both.

Thanks for the replies! I'm going to have to make a pass with the expander ball on the first pass because the necks get dented some times from ejection. If I full length resize with my forster first and then use a lee collet will that achive the same accuracy as using the redding twice? If so then would the collet die be all I need on my bolt guns after fire forming? Thanks gentlmen!

Just keep using the forster and get an expander die to open the neck to where you want it. The lee collet is a good die, but when you size the neck with it you have to measure the neck opening to make sure you don't have like .006 thou tension. If it ends up that way lee will make you a mandrel to get you to the correct size you want. Then if the lee works out you get a bump die to set the shoulder back at least .003 on a semi auto so it will chamber ok and maybe more like .005 thou so you achieve correct lock up of the bolt and carrier .

Go with the Redding Type S or Harrell's F/L Bushing Die. Remove then throw the button in a draw for perpetuity. You only need two dies, ever, a F/L Bushing Die with an assortment of bushings and a Bullet seating die with a micrometer top like the Wilson.
