new Dasher a keeper!

Well I finally got out to do some testing with my Dasher after nearly 2 months of delays. 26" Hart 1-9 twist .272 neck. put together by Dan Dowling on a blueprinted xp100 action.

I'm loading for medium range prairie dogs 250-800 yds. Using Hornady 87 vmaxs, Re-15, Lapua brass, and Rem 7 1/2 primers. Did a ladder test at 300 yds varied charges from 32.9-34.1 gr with the bullets just contacting the lands. 33.8 and 34.1 impacted within 1/4" of each other with still no primer signs of pressure.

I then did a 3 shot group with 33.8 to see what it grouped like. 3/4" with velocities reading 3069-3066-3069. Horizontal dispersion is 5/16", so I'm thinking of tweaking the seating depth to see if I can get rid of the verticle.

All in all a good day at the range. Now to get more loaded to anoy the furred beasties.

Definatley seems to be working! Very respectable for v-maxes!!

good velocities too, not high, but CONSISTANT -- hope a larger sample size yields similar results!

Hi Mine is aswell i went to the range yesterday for some more testing the Rifle was a full Bore target rifle with an Anchultz Prone stock thumb hole copy on it it has a Dale action, Custom 3 lug uses an Omark bolt with replaceable bolt heads.) 26" no7 profile 8 twist Maddco barrel and Weaver T36 on it the stock has been painted in Gold and purple ausomotive paint. it also has a Stillar Tuner it weighs 7 grams under 17 pound. i have now a fire form load with 107gr Sierra molly 30gr of AR2206H,H4895) i was shooting 300 yards on the ground F Class style but not having the target marked just 5 shots straight with Full bore Flags.
The first 3 shots measure .235 and the next two opened it to .849 then i fired a load of 34gr AR2208,Varget) with the group being 1.142 the wind had picked up and mirrage was heavier. All cases are Lapua Remington Primers and i still have to play with the tuner settings. I have a 271 nech chamber a PTG Reamer.

I will get some photos and place them up this week.
The rifle was built for F Class, 500m Fly Shooting, 600and 1000yard Benchrest.
