New Coup De Grâce Bolt Action -- Thoughts?

Got my new Coup de Grace action Friday, had a Barlein barrel spun up and waiting. Strictly a hunting rifle but the action is very nice and the trigger hanger is nothing short of awesome. 7Saum and it fed perfectly out of a AICS mag. Only maybe a dozen rounds thru it with the same load I've used in my last 2 7SAUMs. It shoots.
Trigger Tech Trigger, Dead Air can , MDT Hunt 26 Chassis, Riton 7 Conquer on it for testing.

Spun up?

Sniper hide lingo for threaded, chambered and crowned. I can take when some one has a clip or puts bullets in a gun even when they call a chambering a caliber. But spun up is like finger nails on a chalk board. When i cut some thing on a lathe you can call it spun up or even F,ed up but what a good smith does to a barrel spun up is an insult of epic proportions.

At the range a couple weeks ago, I struck up a conversation with a random shooter. He was admiring my awesome lever action 45LC, with a red-dot and suppressor. Let him shoot it a couple times offhand. It really is a blast of a gun. Such a great caliber, with a fun lever, low recoil, low noise, easy to shoot red dot. It's just silly fun. It immediately hooked him. Ended up taking it apart to show him how it worked.

I asked him what he was shooting, he showed me his rifle. Claimed he made it. I mean okay, lots of people "make" rifles. Expanded he made the receiver. I've heard some tall tales at the range, but this one really did make me chuckle to myself. Turns out I'd been chatting with Ted. Never heard of the guy, never met him. Heard of the company, but never researched them.

He's a fun guy. Let me shoot the rifle, which was a Coup de Grace. Had a .223 barrel on it. Showed me how the bolt comes apart, can be swapped out to shoot other calibers. Easy to replace the bolt you guys don't like. It shot well, cycled fine. Price point feels good. I'd certainly consider one.

Heck of a story and an excellent stroke of luck. Ted is a neat guy but I've only talked to him on the phone. I have 2 Nucleus actions and am getting a 3rd.

Ted is a cool guy and wicked smart.

ARC actions are made in my old stomping ground’s walking distance from my old place. I actually did the concrete in the building across from his.
I met him at his shop and got to play with a prototype Archimedes action and his chassis.
He’s definitely a gun guy.

I dont know much of anything about engineering or action design. Cam someone take a shot at explaining why they chose the threading they did?

Snoozberries yu need to have a long talk with Ted about bolt knobs. His actions are state of the art, but the bolt knobs just plain suck.

Do you have one? Why do they suck? I have 2 different ones on actions. One I'm very fond of and is excellent in comfort and manipulation. The other I had changed when I ordered the action from him. This one is not as comfortable but in the heat of the moment during pdogs or PRS type shooting it as served me well. Ted offers 5 or 6 different knobs. I've shot some 1000 yard f class with it also. It like a Savage rifle, looks are not everything, but they work and perform well in the field.
