New Coup De Grâce Bolt Action -- Thoughts?

I like that Ted has come out with a new action, especially at this price range. I believe I'll stick with the Nucleus action. The Nucleus was on sale for $800.00 at Thanksgiving time, that's a deal.

The new action is a fat bolt design similar to an AI, it can use a fixed extraction cam bolt handle or a pivoting bolt handle to extract like the Archimedes action.

Personally I think it is a very nice looking action how it handles is another thing.

I may get one but I hate to be the beta tester.

This was actually my first thought, meaning about the barrel and the lack of description of such on ARC site. Now I know I'll stick with the Nucleus. There's plenty of Guinea Pigs out there, no offense intended of course.

It actually does say it on the ARC site:

"Receiver and bolt work well with AICS mags but are optimized for incredibly smooth and reliable feeding using AIAW mags and conical breech barrels."

Ultimately, this is why I won't be getting one either. I am not a AIAW or AICS mag fan at all. I have yet to see a setup where they didn't stick way down below the stock line and didn't rattle. Fine for PRS, not fine for hunting.

This is my gripe. I like flush fit mags

I have many AICS pattern flush fit mags. Curtis and Hawkins make them in a short action. They aren’t fully flush but Hawkins makes a pretty streamlined LA setup. Unknown Munitions does an another not too bad LA. Both of those LA are nicer than the AICS steel mags for hunting rifles.

Ok, I stand corrected. However it will not work for me as well.
