I have seen Doan stocks that have been broken through the wrist due to accidents and the repairs Doan does have come out super nice and hardly discernible. @Mudcat recently had one fixed…

This is salvageable

Yes sir, thought about fixing it w/ a piece of 3/4” T6061 aluminum round stock. Definitely could fix it gluing in with structural grade and epoxy.

Decided to hang it up in my shop..

This is salvageable

Yep, I had one of Doan's stocks get busted in two in a auto crash and he repaired it and you wont see the repair unless I show you where it is. I still use the stock.

The stock in this thread should be easily repairable by someone that knows what they are doing, such as Doan.

Went wider w/ the sapele in the middle of laminate, going to play with brown & yellow and get a gold.
The sapele looked good cleared.

That’s a really cool looking project, do you mind if I ask what type of adhesive you use to laminate the pieces together ?

System Three T-88 structural epoxy and Titebond lll depending on wood types, and or using carbon fiber sheeting.
T-88 is amazing adhesive, costly but worth it…

Beautiful work your doing here. Look into West System Epoxies. They offer a full range of products. I have been using their stuff since the late seventies when it was Geougeon Bros.
