New Carbon Remover

CLR works like a champ on every muzzle brake I've tried and will get a carbon ring out like nobodies business. I had a SiCo ASR brake mount that had been in a suppressor for far too long and had between 1/16" and 1/8" of carbon build up in spots. A day of soaking in the CLR and it fell away with minimal effort with gloved fingers. I have always used it at full strength and it works great. BoreTech C4 works great too, but it costs more for a quart than a full gallon of the ZEP CLR.

I wouldn't use it on a blued rifle or shotgun, or anything aluminum and I'd surely keep it a long way from wood.

Back to the OP's question, I used Slip 2000 on my tuner/brake and it only got a little of the hard carbon off. I then heated it up to about 200F and sprayed it good with EZoff oven cleaner and let it soak for 20 minutes. That took off what the Slip didn't touch.

Would I use it on my stainless steel barrel? Yes, but I'd take it out of the stock first and protect the scope really well.

So they use clr in an ultrasonic? Have you tried simple green in an ultrasonic? It cleans hard carbon off very quickly. I can put 6 very carboned up 2 stroke pistons in there and one 60min cycle they look new
Don't know if they use an ultrasonic Dusty.
This goes back 6 years or so

Bore Tech C4 = safe, non toxic, odorless and excellent carbon remover + no drama.

Don't take my word for it; get a small bottle and run a few C4 saturated patches through the bore - you'll be convinced.

I agree wholeheartedly with BoreTech Carbon remover, as well as their copper remover. Both not toxic, and both work.

Before, soak, after. Fresh CLR, 24 hr soak, toothbrush, repeat. 3 soaks at 24 hours. Some came off, remainder still pretty tight. I gave up.
Jealous it works for you lol.
