New Batch of RL17 Experiences?

I just got my 2009 supply yesterday but it's gonna be too cold for a few weeks around here to plan on any range time.

I'm curious how it compares to the first batch from last autumn. Anybody,living in a warmer climate than I do!) have any definitive experience with the latest batch of RL17 compared to the first run?

there is not telling how many lot# have been produced since last fall.

If you figure out that you like this powder, buy it 5lbs at a time or more.

With the current political climate, it would not surprise me if they added a %40 tax on reloading supplies, you may want to buy up some supplies.

If you buy the powder by the pound, you may have to re-verify your load from pound to pound.

True enough for the most part....

I've been in touch with one other shooter who's reported the same lot #'s off the RL17 he's got, so I don't think there have been too many made up since they started up production.

First batch,3 - 1# bottles) from last summer: 7/22/08 shift 2, lot # 06807.

2 - 10# bottles I just received last week: 12/19/08 shift 2, #05908.

Same lot #'s as what my buddy bought, but his is from a different retailer than mine.

Don't laugh at me :crazy: I have the same sort of problem, couple 1 lb cans of different lot#'s of the same powder, mixed them together in an 8lb can and ended up with a conglomeration of lot #s, I did record lot # in my books. I know I probably won't achieve the same powder mix in the future and will have to make sight adjustments. Was trying to consolidate my reloading stuff . Did I Royally screw up? Bear in my mind I love Accuracy but I am Varmint hunter more than a benchrest shooter for competition
