new barrel ?

For accuracy - no.
Recently, another forum member did an apples to apples test that showed no difference in accuracy on the same barrel, same action, same stock. [Took some good machinist skills].
Care to post the link ? I remember reading about how to conduct the test and all the arguing but I missed the actual test

I'm not familiar with your Tikka stock. If their is not enough room for the barrel nut to fit into the barrel channel you may have to whittle on it to get clearance. Like others mention it's smart to get Go and NoGo gauges, a properly fitting action wrench and use them. You will most likely need a barrel wise to get the factory off. If you have a local smith to do the work you will not have the expense of the minimum required tools.
