New Arken 7x35

I know this to be true. I have looked through nightforce shv scopes. I have looked through 2 or 3 ep5s. The 5-20x56 Shv doesn’t even compare to the ep5s I have looked through at the same target/distance and time of day. Side by side the ep5 has much better glass
At the time I was introduced to Arken scopes I owned 8 Leupolds 8.5 X 25 X 50 LRP scopes. Once I purchased my first EP-5 I sold all the Leupolds and went to Arken entirely. I agree on the glass. I definitely could see better with Arken. I since have purchased the EP4-L, SH4-J and the LH-4 and and I'm happy with all the glass.

The ep5 is like looking at a big screen tv. No black outline around the viewing area it’s wide open, with miles of eye relief in every direction and very bright

Nothing wrong with them other than the amount of dollar signs
Understood, but I pretty much have the scopes I need, with the exception of something that will get out to 2 miles. I plan to build an ELR rifle and will be looking for a scope to do that.

I can get out to 500-1000 yards with what I have and I wouldn't take game at that distance. But to fetch 3500 yards is another story. I don't have glass for that. What would you recommend for a company with good support if it's not Nightforce? I should also add, I would like to keep withing $1500-$2000 if possible. And it can't be China. I like German design, and why I own a Porsche.:) Could a decent Steiner be had for $2k used?

You will have to let others answer that question for you. I don’t have the experience past 800 or been around high end glass. My cousin has a 5-50x56 trijicon I have looked through but not anywhere near the first mile much less 2 lol

Accurate Tracking past 1000 is huge! I shoot ELR and have been VERY happy with my 7x35. ATCARs. Contrary to what's been posted here, recent service has been great.
Gen3 Razor isn't a bad option either. You drive a Porsche and are cheaping out on a scope? You want German? the new Schmidt is what I'd be looking at. Under 4 grand.

Any suggestions on brands with good customer service?
Trijicon scopes are very comparable to NightForce and have an excellent reputation for outstanding customer service. Tho their scopes are built so tough, I haven’t had to interact with their CS personally.

Can read about horror stories with NF all day. I called them when they first came out with the 82mm spotting scope made by Meopta and the rep was very unpleasant and provided very little help

I've learned that in my case, I would always end up wishing I bought a higher end scope. I'd be wasting money buying something cheap (probably end up giving it away) and end up buying something better. That's just me though.

The ELR in my area starts at 2000 yards. If more than 1 shooter gets a hit, they move it out to 2500 or 3000 yards. If 2 or more make it past there, they go to 3500 yards. Hence the need to 2 mile. I agree, it's a long way and I have never shot that far. The 375 Cheytac with a 400 grain will get out there, with the right glass.

you are correct Nightforce customer service sucks hard…..I’m currently selling my two ATACR‘s and going back to Leupold I’m done with Nightforce…

Got one mounted--OK I use a yellow nylon rope at 50 yds as a plumb bob--I could see the texture in the rope sharper than with the 25x EP5 I had on the rife --contrast appears excellent as I am looking on a low light rain day--eye box seems more forgiving--otherwise it is maybe 1/2 -3/4 longer on the front bell but same as the 25x--
It is a winner!!
I could see better contrast and better sharpness right off the bat--It is Crisp!!
