New Arken 7x35

Just came back from the VBR Championships yesterday. My first chance to utilize the 7-35 at distance. I have no complaints. Tracked up and down perfectly from 850-1000. I had no issue seeing my targets in cloudy conditions or in bright sun. Ended up placing 2nd in my class.

WOW!

I i'm adding elk county to my post retirement places to move list.

My range opened up after the month of August being closed for maintenance. My first trip was to do a tall target test on this new Arken 7-35. I drew up a 40 MOA vertical and stapled it to the target board with a level. Each 10 MOA increment the bullets were falling right on cue. At 40 MOA the average of the group was .4 inches low. That is an error of a little less than -1% (.95 to be exact) which is still fantastic. This was in line with my NF NXS 8-32. My EP5 5-25 had a +.59% off. After the 3 shots at 40 MOA, I dialed back down to 0 and first shot was just touching the "0" line on the initial bull. With the 85 MOA adjustment I can get compared to my NF NXS at 35, this scope is going to now live on this rifle forever (or until something better comes along). I use this rifle for F-Class and shooting long range steel.

I don't know how Arken can do this for the money they are charging. My next test is on 9/21. I am shooting a 2X600 F-Class match and Oct 19 a 1000 F-Class. If it shoots as easily in these 2 matches as it did today it is a sealed deal to be the 1 and only scope for this rifle.

Report will follow after the Oct match.

Anyone own one of these and a Midas Tac 5x25-56? Wondering how they compare.

I like myTac, but at 200Y it's difficult to spot 22 cal holes in paper.
Resolving bullet holes at distance does come as a problematic issue. Here in NC where the air is so humid that everything gets distorted. I do think the 37X would help mitigate see .224 holes over the 25X. I was shooting today my tall target test and the .224 holes I was punching were very defined. Even at 200 they would be smaller I think they would be visible.

Twice in the last 10 years I have been shooting 1000 F-Class a BIG cloud came over the firing line all the way to the targets and the mirage just disappeared. I could see the pasters on the face of the target. The pasters were a little different in that they were a little glossy while of course the black paper was very flat. They are about .4 x .5 inches

Take a spotting scope with you the next time you shot and set it at 37X and see. For sure you are not limited in resolution by the front objective being only 56mm.

What range you shoot at?

I can tell you on 40x I can easily see 223 holes @ 200 with an Athlon scope. I didn't want to compare apples to oranges so to speak.

Tried to order a new 7-35x today and they wouldn't let me use my accumulated points, Said you couldn't use more than one discount at a time and their LOWEST code is considered a discount, Told me if I wanted to redeem my points to not use the LOWEST code or to save my points up until they were more than the 25% discount! Pretty sad to lose a sale and a customer over $32 but that's their choice....

Is that Midway you are talking about?

I ordered the 7x35x56 on 9-4-24 6 to 8 weeks lead time. when it comes in I'll compare it to the vortex GE and NF 15-55 if its as good as my other arken I don't think I'll have any issues with it.
