New Arken 7x35

I seen someone talking about this on another site several months ago. I believe they were from Australia. I asked and they said it was a very new product. But was never able to find any info other than what they said. They must have had a pre production scope was my thinking. I like my SHJ4 24x scope.
Very happy with mine as well. Good quality glass along with all the other nice options Arken offers.

I REALLY like the VPR MOA reticle on my Gen2 4-16x50. It’s perfectly sized for a FFP scope in my opinion. Easy to see on lower powers and on max power, I can still aim pretty small. At 1K yards with the scope on 16x, the center dot is about the size of a softball on target. So it’s not ideal for bench rest, but for tactical/hunting applications it’s great. At long range, I aim by lining up the edges of the dot on target. Helps me to maintain a consistent point of aim with a dot covering up a softball size area on the paper.

The rest of the reticle sizing is great too. I thought it would feel cluttered, but since it is fairly thin (but not too thin) and the reticle grows in size with an increase in magnification, it doesn’t feel cluttered to me when trying to aim small. I think Arken really knocked it out of the park with the VPR reticle.

But I do prefer a little higher magnification than 16x for long range work so I’m excited to try one of these new 7-35x56 when they hit the shelves

That’s a great magnification spread for long range work. But their site says the 7-35x56 has a 6-8 week lead time so they are not actually available yet.

Unless there was a run and all you greedy bottom feeders bought them up already. Lol!
Yeah when I got my EP5 5-25 it was the same, it's basically just a pre-order. Given the 25% discount it's a good time if a person has need of one.

Arken, in the past, has gotten a greater response than they were expecting with pre selling new models. I’m sure more than a few of you remember the extended wait times with new models. I certainly do. I hope they can deliver their estimated wait time if the response is greater than expected. They’ve gotten better with time in that regard, that’s for sure.

I’ll probably try one of these. I think it would be good fun on long range rimfire shooting.

I have quite a few Arkens now. Their lead times they show on some items, mine have all arrived way before that.
The last 5-25 I ordered showed a lead time. It arrived about 4 days after I ordered it.
Not saying this always applies, but I have never had a wait.

I like my ep5 5-25.

The 7-35 only has a 16.6ft veiw at 100yds, you couldn't see the front and back of a truck on a direct side shot... would be great for range work though.

I'll keep my 5-25 with its 25ft veiw.

You could just dial back to 25 when you need to take a shot at a pickup at 100 yards.

I see now that is the lowest magnification not top so i retract my statement.

The wait times early on were pretty long when new models came out, weeks turned into months. I haven’t had any long waits on models that have been out for any length of time but when new models first came out when Arken was getting off the ground they had more than a few impatient or upset customers. Live and learn. I imagine they’ve been down this road enough and know how to handle things when introducing new models, now.

I and a couple of buddies ordered three the first month or two out, how ever long ago that was. They both got theirs within 7-10 days. I was in no hurry, but it went past the lead time. I let it slide as I had access to one while I waited. Some time later, I sent them an email asking in a polite way if all was good, I was informed it was on its way and should arrive anytime, it was in my mailbox that night, along with some swag.
Yeah entering into a new business and taking care of orders, there is a learning curve for sure. They have always responded quickly and professionally to me.
As I have mentioned before, sent an email on a Sunday, got an answer that same day when anytime in the next week would have been great. Some folks may think little of that, to me that is pure drive and devotion.

Hopefully they made the new 7-35 worth what you pay for it.
I bought their EP5 5-25, it sucked. Sent it back for a 100% refund.
CS gave me the run-around at first, then finally refunded all my money.

My one and only problem with Arken has been a very late delivery (months late) of a new model way back when. I think they’ve learned through growing pains and that’s a non issue now.

Last year my brother, BIL and nephew all bought tikka 6.5PRCs, they all went with Arkens so I joined in. All summer long we used Arken EPL optics, we were shooting twice a week, 50-60 rounds a week and we had zero issues with the scopes. The only problems we had were turrets that came loose from improper torquing of the set screws, I think they were scared to torque the screws too much. Zero stop was easy enough to set, very simple design. I loaded for an all four rifles and spent a lot of time with all four scopes. The scopes were very consistent when compared to each other, same sensitivity with parallax adjustment, same eye box, same feel as far as the turrets. All four tracked reliably. For the 300.00 spent, they were bought in sale, I don’t know how you could beat it. The scopes were solid.

I admit I swapped mine out for a Leupy Mark5 when the season opened but that’s just because those are my favorite scopes, not Because the Arken was lacking in any way. All four of those rifles took game, one shot was at 757 by my brother’s daughter who had a deer tag in the rut, it was the last day and they weren’t getting any closer but she had been shooting a lot with the rifle. One shot standing broadside destroying a tree, DRT.

I have a couple other midels of Arkens, I feel like I’m repeating myself but after handling about a dozen of these scopes in various models I have no complaints, only compliments.

I do think if you’ve had a bad experience theres nothing wrong with sharing the details of what happened, whether it’s product related or customer service. This forum is pretty good about sharing with the idea of helping others, it’s a great attribute of the community.

If you can’t provide any useful insight or information, then I see no reason for any comment in the first place. I’m sure you have a reason, but with no explanation, your claim is baseless and should be deleted
Ok, i`ll play that game....

The ep5 arrived in a perfect shipping container box, ZERO damage, i open the shipping box only to find that the box that the scope is in, is damaged severely. Who the hell ships a KNOWN damaged scope box with a damaged scope in it!!!!! You could obviously SEE that the box was practically crushed! Yet the shipping box everything came in, was in perfect condition. They just simply didn`t give a sh!t and just tossed whatever they had, into the shipping box and sent it out the door without even caring! Did they really think a customer wasn`t going to notice, or care??? They simply didn`t have any quality control the day this one got shipped. Hopefully, they have addressed their quality issues. I bet i wasn`t the only arken victim out there.

Contents in the package:
They sent 30mm rings with the scope when we all know damn well its a 34mm scope (DUH!!!!!)
They sent the wrong scope covers! Both were wrong, and both were the same size (DUH!!!!!!)
They sent the wrong throw lever.

Inspection of the scope:
The power ring locked up on the low end and would hardly even move without over forcing it.
The illumination, just flat out couldn`t be used during daylight at all. Never seen one so dim & terrible.
This is just my opinion, the glass didn`t equal all the hype everyone blew it up to be. Mediocre at best.
The parallax didn`t move smoothly at all, was super stiff, nore did it do much as far as focus.

Contacting for the return:
I emailed, i called, i left message after message, and it seems my messages were ignored for MANY days. Then after the return policy was past its date, SUDDENLY, i get an email saying i`m out of the return policy timeline to get a refund. I told them i had proof that i contacted them the next day when the scope arrived, telling them that the scope was being returned for being totally defective, and that they had ALSO sent all the wrong items with the scope. They played the "oh i don`t see anywhere where you contacted us". After they said that, i told them i will seek legal advice where we go from here. It was amazing how they all of a sudden, found my messages. Then my money was refunded quickly after that.

Its hard to make a second impression good, when the first one went so bad.

Sorry, arken left a very bad taste, for me.

YMMV

If that’s the experience you had I don’t blame you for not being a fan, hopefully they learned from it. Sounds like someone in shipping had a hot date on a Friday afternoon and just didn’t care. Stuff like that happens, I get it, hopefully customer service has improved since! I’d be angry too.
