New Arken 7x35

I shot a 1000 yard F-Class match this last Saturday (10/29) with the 7-35 in place of my NXS 8-32 on my 22BR setup. My scores were pretty much the same as my normal scores. Shot a 183-1X and then 185-2X with the winds blowing even harder. Go Figure. The last match the mirage was really up there and the image looked to be pretty much the same as I have seen in the NXS. I was using hold offs with the target and not with the reticle and I missed 2 wind calls for the 2 8's I shot. I don't know what other people do but I came focused on the 10 ring and just didn't even notice how the edges looked at 1000 yards. Next year I will have to remember to check that out.

The scope was really bright and good contrast but of course with the mirage running contrast in any scope was a challenge. One of the guys shooting on my target had a NF competition set at 40X and I looked through it after he was done shooting and his image wasn't any better and not nearly as bright as mine. I blame that on the smaller 52mm objective reduced the exit pupil to 1.3mm compared to the EP5 of 1.6mm.

Just for reference this range is almost due north so we never have to look in the sun. This gives the best image that you can get.

I have decided that I am leaving this scope on my F-Class rifle so that I can also do long range steel without having to swap scopes. My NXS is now going to be put on my Anschutz 54 that I use for rimfire F-Class. and sell the S3 8-32 that is currently on it.

One of my shooting buddies just got his 7-35 Arken so I will get to check his out to see if they are holding their QC to tight standards. We both own EP5 5-25's and I cannot see any difference with them.

Here in Australia the Arken 7-35×56 is only about $100 to $150 (AUD) less than a Nightforce SHV 5-20×56. I would be giving up the extra magnification and paying a little more for the Nightforce.

Agree. There’s nothing about the SHV line that has ever impressed me and NF customer service is garbage
Down here you have two choices of glass for great customer service because only Leupold and Nightforce have labs. Any other brand needs to go overseas to be repaired if warranty work is required. I've never had a warranty claim for Nightforce but a mate had his Benchrest model (not sure exactly which) fail earlier this year when the elevation turret stopped working. Nightforce Australia were great and had him up and running again quickly. I actually prefer some of the Euro scopes more but after an experience with Zeiss I now stick with the two with local labs. I'd love to be spoilt for choice like you blokes are!

Funny. LOL I guess made in the same plant and with similar features.

I wonder how you could even tell ??? All of my scopes look the same to me. I'm guessing the DNT is cheaper? As it is the Arken is about $600 on sale. In looking at their site, it only looks marginally less than Arken, who is already building a brand/name. Not saying the DNT is not a good scope, I don't have one so don't know. For resale, the Arken name is worth something.

Both are $599. DNT made the night vision scopes for Arken and now making them for themselves. I don’t have a dog in the fight and don’t care which people like more but the scopes are very similar.

My 7x35x56 is scheduled for delivery tomorrow 10-23-24 looking forward to putting it to work.
Will wednesday came and no arken scope contacted UPS and Arken was told by UPS that it was delivered but they couldn't provide a photo of proof of delivery UPS said they would e-mail me a delivery photo but the e-mail was never received. send Arken an e-mail and to no surprise was told it was a UPS issue, but arken did tell me that I could purchase another 7x35 at 50% off if the first one was not found. I reminded arken that I had paid for shipping insurance and again it's an UPS issue and I needed to work it out with UPS, so I call UPS again and went through three more UPS associates after about four hors of phone calls with people that have issue's understanding English I found out I needed to contact the International Claim depart.UPS said I should contart the sender and have them contact the carrier in Canada, but I should go ahead and file a claim with UPS now and I should hear something within the next 8 days / 2 weeks. To say I'm unhappy with Arken and UPS is an understatment. It could be worst I quess if it was a 2 to 3 thousand dollar scope.

Yea, that sucks no doubt. Keep the hammer down on both of them.

If UPS picked up the shipment Arken is no more responsible for the delivery than UPS is for the quality of the scope.
