I have been reading this web site for about a year now and love it. I would like information on building a poor mans 6mm br gun. I have a rem 700vs in 22-250 only problem is it shoots around a 1/4 in groups so until it gets worse I'm not likely to do anything with it. If I where to buy another Rem 700 vs/vssf etc.and had the action trued barrel replaced and kept the existing HS stock what is the best accuracy I could hope for and what would a reasonable outcome be. Or should I pay more and buy a 40X or HS precision or other semi custom. The gun would be used as a varmint gun/deer & antelope and some informal target shooting. My goal is to get a deer legal,must be 6mm or greater in Canada)gun that shoots one hole groups and will kill deer and antelope out past 600 yds. Am I asking for the impossible dream??
