New 6-284 barrel problem HELP!

I'm thinking with a tight neck you may have to ream the necks

I shipped the gun back, (on their dime) we'll see what happens. He also said they would cover the return postage. The guy was practically falling all over himself apologizing, so I feel I will give him a chance to see what's going on.

That what what any good business man would do. By law it should be marked on the barrel . Larry

If it is a 6-284 winchester, as you say, is stamped on the barrel, winchester brass is smaller in the Web than lapua & norma. If it was cut for win brass, lapua won't fit

Winchester brass is SAAMI spec, Lapua is CIP (European) spec and so is Norma!

The difference I get between the two is .0003. On new unfired cases they should fit. Read reply 8. Matt

Sucks you are having a problem, but it's a good sign that your smith is standing behind his work at this point.
