New 110gr 6mm from JLK.

Completely stumbled upon it looking for some options in the 130gr 6.5mm bullet weight. The 140gr bullets I shot in the past from JLK have won me a trophy or two.

Cant wait to see someone wring these out.

If 1/8 twist, I'll take either one. If cost is reasonably around Berger, I'd shoot both.

Looks like Our friends over at JLK Swampworks has been working on a couple new bullets. a 6mm 110gr VLD and a 147grVLD 6.5mm, Looking at the price point for the 6mm for a hand made bullet I find that very appealing. If you have ever tried to make a bullet or seen someone first hand make a bullet on non automated machines you wonder how they do that!!!

I think I read in one of Litz's books that a long boat tail can create excessive disturbance behind the bullet and result in increased drag on bullet, similar to what is created with a flat based bullet. With that in mind,I find it interesting that some custom bullet makers advertise a "long boat tail" as though it is desirable. A case in point is the 210 LD by JLK.

As long as the boat tail tapers all the way back it reduces drag. The best ballistic shape for a bullet would be a double pointed spitzer.

At the same time, Bryan's own experiments show that the JLK 210LBT bullet has an excellent form factor and BC.

Like anything else, there is a point of too much. I don't think the "long boat tails" that I've seen thus far have reached that point.

BC = .288 G7 confirmed to 1200. Not quite as good as the SMK or DTAC which Litz says are both around .302. They shoot great though!
