6mm 115 Brands?

So the 115 is popular for .243 / 6mm shooters in many cartridges.

Up until last evening I'd thought there were only two bullet makers selling them: Berger with their 115VLD, and David Tubb's DTAC115,made by Sierra?).

Come to understand Steve Milholland, who took up where Jimmy Knox left off back in 2006, also supplies a 115 VLD 6mm bullet.

Anybody used these in 6BR / 6XC / 6-whatever?

I have a Tubb in 6 cm and it seems to love the 115's so much so I just bought anoyhther 1300 of them.
I do not like to experiment ' call it lazy' but when there shooting 1/4 ' moa its hard to argue with .

I shoot the 115 JLK's in a 1-7.75 twist Krieger, 30' long. The cartridge is a 6mmSX with the parent case being the 243. Groups can only be described as 'little knots'. I used to bearing surface sort all the other 115 bullets, and still do with the JLK's,but it's boring work when you only get 4-5 from 100 bullets that are more than the +- .001 that I allow. The QC on these bullets is second to none. Keep up the good work Steve,

Mr Clark

1Shot asked if I wanted to go in on his 115 JLK order so I did. I shot them for the first time about a week ago. I also shoot the 6mm Super X cartridge. My rifle is a R-1 Ellisio with a Satern 1:8.04 twist SS MEdium Palma. The bullets produced a .527 group with the first charge and a .321 on the next powder Charge and a .570something on the next powder charge. I went home loaded up 32 rounds of the middle Charge and the next almost windless morning shot a 22 shot string at 600yards prone. Two sighters and a 199-13X for record. The one nine was at exactly 3:00 for the wind let off I did not catch. The other ten I had loaded went across my Crono at 2972 Avge with a larger ES than I like at 23fps. Bottom Line is the JLK's are shooting really well and as 1 Shot mentioned it was a waste of time to measure base to ogive, as they seem to be very consistant. I cant wait to shoot them at 1000 yards. So far its been good, Time will tell if they continue to keep performing for me.

This is all good stuff....

I never had much luck with Berger's 115 VLD in 6XC barrels I have, ranging from 1:7.5 to 1:8. The DTAC115 hammers with the right load.

I just learned Swampy's making a 6mm 115VLD & appreciate the feedback on consistency; that reinforces my own data on what he's been achieving in bullet dimensions for other weights & diameters I have.

That they shoot is even better! I have what I'd planned to use for this season already on the shelf but there's no reason not to put in an order for 2010 is there ;-)

I just down loaded my pics from my old beat up digital camera, Hence the incorrect Date in the corner.,buttons dont work anymore) Of course your buttons wouldnt work anymore if you have been every where this camera has been.

Any way, they say a picture is worth a thousand words, so you will see the two sighters, red pasters) and twenty shots for record. This with about 130 rounds on the barrel since its last cleaning., just didnt have time to get to it before I missed the good weather to shoot) I see there is actually 14X's instead of 13 I posted above.

Prone, 6mm SuperX,115JLK,R19,Fed 210M,Winchester Brass, .001 nk tension.

Looks promising anyway. Again time will tell if it keeps on performing like that.

Good Shoot'n Russ. Let us know how it goes at 1,000 when you get there.

I have a 6mm 1:7.5 barrel that will need to be chambered soon.
