Neolube#2

I’d like to try some. I never used it and I’d like to see what is does for my seating force and then measure ES/SD/Accuracy with vs without. How do I get some?

A couple of months ago I went on Amazon Prime to order some and they had a shipping surcharge on it. so I passed. Just now went to Amazon again and the shipping surcharge is gone! I took the bait!

I was having the same train of thought during latter part of last year.
I ran a little experiment. Before any of you scientific types start about test samples and deviations and such…. I’m not that guy. Just an old country boy.
I loaded 60 rounds; 20 with no lube and brushed the neck with a nylon brush, 20 dipped in Imperial Application Media with Dry Neck Lube, and 20 with the neck swabbed with NeoLube 2. All cases were prepped and loaded alike, same powder, primer and bullet. I did this with my Ruger M77 Hawkeye LRT in 6.5PRC. Norma brass, Fed 210, Retumbo @ 56.4gr, Hornady 143ELDX.

I took 10 of each to the range and fired them recording the data, group size, mean radius, ES, SD, and average velocity.
I stored the other half of the ammo for 2 months.

The NeoLube2 group had a lower ES and SD on both groups. When I say lower I mean; the no lube group was ES 85 and SD 34.8, the NeoLube2 group was ES 14 and SD 5.7.
Also the group that the necks were not lubed and hit with a nylon brush the Avg Vel was higher after 2 months by 52fps. Made me a believer in cold welding.

I did the same test on my 284 Shehane F class gun and did not get the same results. It doesn’t like anything other than the nylon brush. But I use it all the time now for my 6.5PRC.

Recently, I loaded some new unfired PPU 7.62x51 brass for testing. Weather and a late arriving scope forced the ammo to sit for 3 weeks. I did not use neolube as I wasnt't planning on them sitting for more than a couple days. After installing the scope I went to the range. Fired one round on paper and adjusted the scope. The second round severely flattened the primer but no bolt swipe. Stopped right there and decided to pull the bullets and weigh powder thinking I made a mistake. Powder on the ones I could pull were right on the money. There were 3 rounds that could not be pulled by my collet puller. I did manage to get a 4th to come out but it wasnt easy. The remainder had to be seated deeper to break the bond and then the seater dented the jacket.
