Need to slow down 6.5 Lapua with 107s

I'm creating a load for the 6.5x47 Lapua to use in silhouette on the chickens and pigs at 200 & 300 meters. The hodgdon loads are all to fast, starting at about 2870 fps.

I would like to have the 107s go at about 2650. Any safe way to achieve this? I know h4895 can be downloaded but I don't see a load with that powder for this light of a bullet.

Go over to Steel Chickens forum and look for load data. I have to check my load data. I played around with Benchmark and VV150.

You probably have good reasons to launch the 107 MK at 2,650 but 2,850 is a great speed for 107's for C, P & T and is pretty much the perfect speed for Turkeys. That is what I shoot from my 6BR.

Sierra 107 MK, 30gr of Varget, CCI 450 primers, Lapua 6BR Norma cases, HBN on the bullets and in the barrel.

Perhaps you shoot a different bullet at Turkeys.

The online VihtaVuori load data shows a load of 30.2gr of N133 launching a 108 Scenar at 2,648.

Always remember, a full case is a happy case!

This won't help, but the 6.5 Grendel pushes those bullets right at 2600. I only add this since I have both calibers so I can switch between them for different applications. As for the 6.5Lapua, just use starting loads and it will be like a pop gun.

Johnfred, I still need to push the 142s at 2650 as well for the rams. I did look at the Grendel before deciding on the 47L

I posted the load data in case someone that is shooting a 6BR was interested.

I misread your OP. Doh! Whenever I see 107 MK my mind jumps to the 6mm version. I forget there is a 6.5 SMK. I do that all the time.
