how to SLOW a bullet down

My new favorite loads are h4985 for both my 280 Remington and my .223 Remington 100gr 280 rem at 2000fps and .223 rem 55gr at 1800fps

I believe that H4895 holds a record. Hodgdon publishes H4895 data for no less than 107 rifle cartridges, from 17-222 to 460 Weatherby Magnum and 500 Cyrus. There's only a relative handful of cartridges in between which don't have H4895 listed for them. Find me another powder which is as versatile and is published for so many cartridges.

yup H-4895 is really hard to beat in versatility!!! as a matter of fact its one of the Go-To-Powders for the 7MM Bench Rest that I shoot.... I can shoot full power loads or light plinkers using the same powder and accuracy seems not to be detrimental in any way just some loads are simply better than others.. Case in point I like to shoot my 174gr Privi Partizan FMJ out of my 7mm BR for 2383fps....very accurate indeed easy MOA when I do my part.... then when I use the 65% rule on H-4895 it puts me somewhere around1500-1600fps and I still have decent accuracy!!! whats really cool is using this formula on a 100gr pill andand cutting it back 65% yeilds a real nice easy shooter that doesnt hammer the ears ... so for me H-4895is Da-Bomb!!
