I have one of these sewn into a shooting vest. I still need to further reduce the recoil, even with the pad. I am leaning towards the lead shot in the stock. I am thinking that by drilling out the stock and inserting a tube of lead, I can add a pretty good amount of lead. I am no adverse to the tuner/break but I would want one that was fitted for my barrel. I might do this over the winter. My gunsmith is a 100 miles from me. guess I could ship it to him but I don't like doing that. Things get lost in shipping. Then there is the fact that the rifle shoots so well I hate to tamper with it. Adding weight won't have any effect on the barrel and action.1. shoot free recoil
2. Caldwell lead sled (I haven't used one, but can't imagine they make a very good quality hold)
3. a bag of lead shot between your buttstock and your shoulder
I'm not particularly recoil sensitive, but when I shot 50 rounds though my 7 Mag in the summer, I would use the Magnum Past Recoil Shield really works in spreading the recoil over a larger area. Given that when you shoot, the butt of the rifle tends to settle in the pocket of your collarbone, does this transmit to your shoulder and cause pain?
