wow... that thing is expensive!

I would never think that it would be worth the cost to buy something like that for reloading. However, the testing that brian427cobra did shows some interesting numbers over the chronograph... an SD of 3 and ES of 5 is almost unheard of. I'm not going to ask brian427cobra to burn up components and barrels to do a large test, but it would be interesting to see the results of a large sample...

Ask hime to tell you what the Gen 2 Prometheus cost is......then we'll see if the GD503 is expensive.

Yep and prob waited a year for it....thats 3 GD503's...at least with the GD503 you can weigh other things...cases, bullets, whatever.

I'm certainly not saying its not nice just crazy expensive!!

QS you know more work other than a dead nuts powder charge that gives ultra low SD/ES, I'm doing everything I can do to brass to get those numbers, I waited almost a year to get my Gen 2, 31 Ben Franklins is what handed Brand in his shop for it, for me it's worth it, sure a highly tuned 1010 from Scott Parker or a GD503 will the same thing, but the Gen 2 Prometheus is full auto, a 1010 nor GD503 can charge a case every 12-14 seconds.

This has been a very informative thread and is the reason I registered. I have also been shopping for a new scale. Given my reloading needs and my budget I contacted Scott Parker and ordered a new tuned Redding scale. Thanks for all the great info & help

Do yourself and your back/knees a favor and get a prism from http://www.omegapowdertrickler.com/. A lot easier to read the scale. Their power trickler is pretty sweet too.

That is really great, Welcome to the forum, I hope you stay active, ask lots of questions and chime in with answers when you know the answers. Also I agree with nosualc, I haven't used the prism but the Omega trickler is a huge plus and will really compliment and complete your new tuned scale, now that I have one I wouldn't be without it, takes a little bit to get used to but once you figure what works best it's great.

That is the only thing that is important,....you started a thread and got out of it what you were looking for and then some. I know I learned more and that is why I am on this site so much, I like learning for me everybody had some good input but 1066 stood out above all the rest for me, thanks for the very informative thread, one of the better ones on scales for sure.

I have bought one from amazon few months ago which have many features with accuracy up to 0.01. And there are many other scale that are available in cheap price and different features that you need.
