Need some ring base options

Hello all
My uncle recently picked up a savage 6br benchrest model, Leupold base and Leupold rings topped off with a Burris black diamond 8-32x50. Since our mn winter has been so kind to let me shoot ( without freezing any body parts) I decided to load up some rounds and head to the range today. I started shooting at 200 yrds and with in couple rounds realized that in order to even hit 6" low I was maxed out in elevation. Now the easy fix is Burris sign. Zee rings with the fancy inserts... Except no one has any for some unforeseen reason. By the way I have three sets of these rings and swear by them. Would it pay to try a different base or can I assume that Leupold has done there job and it is the action? I know I could get a 20 moa base but if it's the action I'm still going to have problems. Any ideas would be great.
Thanks
Scott

I had a buddy who recently had the same issue with an AR that he set up. Turns out he had his +20 MOA QD mount set up backward. Doh!

Just get a pack of scope block shims from brownells. Start with a .010 shimm under the rear mount. That should be close and you can add shim if necessary. Very simple very easy.

I had that happen with a set of Redfield rings years ago, mismatched at the factory & I didn't catch it. You can check the bases with a straight edge across them to see if that's the issue. Brownell's had Sig. Zee's listed in stock a couple weeks ago on their site. Another ring that I've had great success with is the Warne.
